icemaker quit working when we moved
My husband took out the old icemaker in about 5 minutes. The new icemaker was a perfect fit even though the refrigerator was >10yrs old. The only difficult part was the plug extension that was needed so that it would fit into an older appliance. The part was included, it just made the cord about 3 inches longer than it needed to. After working with it for about 20 minutes we were able to fit it on the back side of the icemaker. Now it works great!!

No water supply to ice maker
Received the first water valve with very poor included instructions. Watched the suggested instructional YouTube for my part installation which was very well done except my new part was not identical to my old part or the one in the YouTube. A translucent plastic housing on the part obstructed the installation so I needed to trim part of it away with a tin shear before attaching the part to the refrig. The waterline attachments were slip fit rather than what my old part had with compression nuts. I replaced all the plastic water lines using the slip fittings, turned the water back on and- all fittings leaked. Undid the fittings, trimmed the water lines and reattached- still leaked. So I contacted customer service who sent out a new part and followed the above procedure and everything went quickly with no leaks. I suggest you replace the two plastic water lines ( you will need to buy two slip fittings and two diameter lines) these are available at Home Depot. There is also a YouTube for this and it is a must see. My main supply line to the refrigerator is copper tubing. I trimmed the end of the tubing, filed it smoot, steelwooled the surface and installed a new brass compression ring befor reactching to the valve. Note, because of the first leaks, I found it easier to make all my connections including the electrical, plug the refrigerator back in and active the ice maker and water dispenser before reaching the valve the the frig back. Original part cracked allowing crushing fingers to grab plastic guide jamming it.
Part attaches to metal plate near crushing fingers which attaches to ice holding bin. Remove about 6 screws total on each side of plate. You must disassemble the auger & other parts so you can reassemble it in the proper order. Not many parts but i always take pics to cut down on time. New part is at the other end of the auger and acts as the holde of the auger shaft. Picture a crankshaft with a bearing on each end so the auger rotates between new part and the other end of auger shaft. That's it.

ice maker stopped working
I unplugged the refrigerator and shut off the water. I removed the back of the frig where the inlet valve is located. I removed the old nuts and cut the plastic water line on the ends. I shoved them into the new fittings. I then turned on the water and plugged in the frig. I could hear the water pumping into the ice maker. I screwed the inlet and back of refrigerator in place.

Water Valve Leaking
Removed lower cover screws removed cover removed copper water feed tubing connector unplugged wire connectors pulled out plastic water line connector and water lines removed water valve assembly installed water lines installed wire connectors secured valve assembly reinstalled copper water line turned on water valve checked for leaks reinstalled lower rear cover

My icemaker was leaking down the back wall of the freezer (side-by-side unit) building a huge ice flow that grew into the path of the circulation fan.
After turning the water off, I removed the two screws holding the cover on the lower back of the freezer. I disconnected the copper water supply line from the valve. I then removed the screw holding the valve in place and removed it from the freezer. I removed the two wires from the valve and placed them on the new valve (after inserting the clip inserts to match the new size tabs).I pulled the two plastic water lines out of the valve and inserted them into the new valve. I put the new valve in place and replaced the screw. Total time less than 15 minutes. Much easier to fix, than to identify the problem. The collective wisdom of the internet strikes again! Thanks to all.

Ice Maker Clogging up from frost build-up
Turn off power
Remove operator faceplate by pullling out on outer lower corners
Disconnect wire connectors from circuit board
Remove four screws from dispenser and pull out dispenser assy
Replcae Door ASsembly
Put everything back in place
Power up
Job Done

Ice maker discharge was slow and jammed with ice and frost. The cause was a distorted flapper that did not seal properly, admitting warm air into the dispenser chamber.
Excellent video was available on the Parts Select website. It was simple. The selector panel pulled out by hand from the bottom. The subpanel was removed with the four screws. The flapper snapped out of the holder with two clips. The new one was inserted in reverse order.

Ice Building Up In The Ice Dispenser Chute
Under the control panel there are three small holes. Insert ballpen or small flat screw driver on both outer holes to push a tab lock that holds the control panel in place. Then pull out control panel and three set of wires will be exposed and disconnect wire connectors (connectors have different sizes so you wont get confused in reconnecting). Unscrew four screws on each corner that holds the ice dispenser assembly (a part where you push your glass against to dispense ice or water. The flapper is exposed and easy to replace.

Leaking valve
The valve was leaking from the core and not the in/out tubes. The valve is easy to get to and very easy to replace. When replacing the water in/outs you cut them off the old valve and then slip them on the new valve. 5 to 10 minute job.

Water flow was too low
Turn off water valve to the refigerator and disconnect line.
Remove the cardboard backing and insulation.
Remove old valve and cut lines close to the valve.
Trim plastic on new valve as needed to fit (generic valve).
Insert water lines into new valve.
Install new valve.
Connect water line and open valve.
Replace cardboard backing and insulation.
Remove the cardboard backing and insulation.

To install the new valve, I inserted the two plastic hoses into the new valve. (hoses are different diameters so it is next to impossible to insert them incorrectly.) I replaced the electrical connectors (This was the only glitch since the one connector on the refrigerator is larger then the pins on the new valve, A little electrical tape held the connector in place.) I then tightened the screw that holds the valve on the refirgerator and reconnected the household water to line to the valve.
The entire job took less time then it has taken me to type the procedure.
