TBXA22ZRBRAD General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

First i removed the vegetable drawers and slide rails. Removed two screws from the old rail then replaced it with the new one. Then replaced the vegetable drawers. It was that simple. The replaceement part was delivered to my home in threre days after i ordered it on line. It was better than going to a dealer and having them order one for me then having to make another trip to pick it up.

The entire frame that holds the two crisper drawers pulls right out. After that, it's just a matter of unscrewing the broken part, snapping in and screwing the new part and sliding the whole thing back in.

The repair was very simple. The longest part was taking everything off the shelf in the refrigerator so that the slide rail could be removed. Then when things were out, it was clear that the bottom of the refrigerator needed cleaning. The repair itself was done quickly. The cleaning (yuck) took longer! this is a great site because the part came quickly and it was very easy to select just what was needed.

Just as your video described, although due to the age of the fridge, it took a bit longer to remove the defective switch. Your video made this so simple, I can't imagine why we lived with a dark fridge for so long! I was ready to buy a whole new fridge, as repairmen are often nonexistent for small repairs. Removed two screws, lined up the rail and replaced the screws. That was it!! Glass shelf sat on top and bin slid in smoothly.

Pulled out old drain gromet. Have to be careful not to put drain in motor. Experienced repair person could probably to in 5 minutes; it took my husband about 15 minutes. Did not really need entire drain line; just connection at top.

Using plyers Pulled old switch down and out. Put new one in and pushed new switch up into position. The switch plugs into the contacts, no wiring needed. Worked like a charm. You saved me 200 dollars GE repair bill. Thanks

Had to e-mail GE for electrical schematic. Checked voltages to compressor. Jumpered compressor to see if it would even come on. Found bad run capacitor. Fixed.

Unscrewed the old rail, cleaned everything and installed the new rail

I watched some videos online trying to find one that pertained to my door gasket and found a couple. After that it was a snap. The old gasket came off easy and the new one went back on easy. I did however submerse it in hot water first to kind of even things out.

I started at the compressor and replaced the overload and the Ptcr first and that did not make the compressor start running again, so I replaced the capasitor and it still did not start, so I bit the bulett and replaced the Main Control Board and that is what I should have checked first, when I removed the old one I found a little burnt spot on the back that I could not see from the front. The new one did not look exactly like the old one, it had two more wire terminals than the old one, but just leave them blank and everything will work just fine!

I followed the instructions and had no trouble. The refrigerator now cycles on and off as it should. The iside temp. is much colder and I know there will be a good savings on electricty.

Emptied freezes, turned off power, took floor of freezer out [4 screws ], took two screws out of fan mounts and replaces fan. Reassembled by reverse process. Simple
