The coating was coming off of the ice maker and ending up in the ice.
First I removed the screw holding the ice maker on the wall and then loosen two other screws in oreder to remove the maker. Once out, I replaced the maker with the new one. Then replaced it in the refrig.

Replaced dorr closure cam on both doors of side-by-side
The fridge door was easy. Just unscrew top and lift off hindge. The freezer door took longer. But I had the user guide which helped. We unhooked the power harness at the top of the door, and disconnected the water line at the bottom of the door.

Frankly, it wasn't that hard for me because I had my son-in-law do it!

Ice maker coating was cracked causing water to drip and freeze in ice catcher
First I loosened 2 phillips head screws at the top of the ice maker (the one that is close to the front is a little difficult to get a screwdriver on). These 2 screws do not have to be removed. Took 1 screw out of the L-bracket at the bottom of the ice maker. I then slipped the icemaker upward from the 2 top screws and unplugged the electrical wires at the connector at back of the refrigerator to remove the ice maker. I then removed the front cover from it and placed it on the replacement ice maker. I also swapped the L-brackets on the two ice makers as the new one was bent. I then reinstalled the new Ice maker in the reverse order.

The right door was sagging and the handles were rubbing together
First, remove the plastic cover off the top hinge by removing the single phillips head screw.

Removed the three hex-head screws holding the hinge to the body of the fridge and then lift the hinge off of the door.

Lift the door off the bottom hinge and place on a flat surface so you can easily access the bottom.

Remove the single hex-head screw from the center of the door part of the closure cam and pull it free. Install the new part.

Next, remove the bottom portion of the closure cam from the lower door hinge (still attached to the fridge) by removing the single hex-head screw. Install the new part.

If needed, lube the lower door hinge with Vaseline and carefully set the door back on. (This is the hard part if you are working alone, as it can be hard to line up the hole.)

Lube the top hinge, reinstall, and replace the plastic cover. Easy as 1, 2, 3.

Ice maker had a leak and was putting wter in ice tray
I simply removed 3 nut head screews and the old unit came off. I removed the ice level arm off the old unit and put on the new one. I removed the old wire harness and plugged into the new unit. I mounted the new unit, plugged it in and was done. I had ice in less than an hour. So simple my 11 year old could have done it without help.

Ice maker would overflow
Most of the stories on repairing this ice maker indicated that was real easy until describing the Amana version. The fill tube attaches differently. The recommendation was to use your old "cup". I have found that to make the change required that you find a philips screw driver and locate two access holes in the motor end of the control unit. you can loosen those two screws (they won't fall out) all of the way and pull the control unit from the tray part of the ice maker. DON'T remove the three screws that hold the control unit together or rotate the sprocket. This will allow you to disassemble the parts that hold the "cup" in place. Just remember "if it isn't coming apart easily your not doing it right".

Ice maker not making ice. Heater element was in two due to our community water that is very soft. This is our 3rd ice maker. Put a filter on the inlet water to ice maker after the 2nd ice maker. Refrigerator is 15 yrs old.
Used new icemaker assembly removing the existing
wiring harness from old unit and using it in the new
assembly unit. All in all very easy.

Ice Maker not making ice
I originally replaced the inlet valve--it was cheaper. It did not solve my problem. So I ordered the icemaker for my Amana side-by-side; it came the next day! Remove ice bucket, unplug electric, even left the water on. Remove 3 screws holding the old icemaker in. The wiring harness on my fridge was too short to allow me to remove the plug from the old icemaker, so I had to remove the metal mounting plate behind the icemaker to allow me to have enough slack to turn the icemaker and depress the projection on the plug while pulling it from the socket. The icemaker comes right out then. Took off the bail and installed it on the new one. The left side is the important one that engages the mechanism while the right side is just a slave or tender that holds it in position. Plug the wiring harness plug into the new icemaker (be sure to get it in right side up and fully engage the projection on the plug into the hole on the side of the socket--that keeps it from ever working out from vibration or unintended or accidental manipulation. Place the old icemaker end cap over the new icemaker end to shield the mechanism on the left side. Remount the mounting plate to the sides of the freezer with the original 4 screws. I suggest putting a paper or something underneath your work--it is tight quarters and screws are easy to drop. A magnetic nutdriver might help here. Tighten the 4 screws, tuck the wiring harness up under the metal clip (that keeps it up and out of the way of future accidental injury or dislodging). Then use the nut driver to place the 3 original screws which hold the icemaker to the mounting plate. Start all 3, then assess for level mounting before you tighten them--a crooked or unlevel mount job will be inefficient and yield irregular ice cubes. Reinstall the ice bucket and lower the bail which detects the need for more ice and starts the process. Plug the electric back in and turn the water back on (if you shut it off). I had the first cubes in a couple of hours. It will take a while for the cycle to start, so don't worry if you don't have water flowing into the tray right away.

No Ice in the Icemaker
Easier than expected. I reserved several hours of my time but was surprised it only took about 20 minutes. I removed the ice cube bin from the freezer and was able to access the one screw that held the ice maker assembly in place (at the bottom). Then it was just a matter of lifting the assembly off the two hooks near its top by pulling the bottom slightly away from the wall it was mounted on and sliding up. The water inlet was just a tube that slid in to the icemaker so no problem there. The wiring harness was a little tricky to disconnect or I would have been done much faster (I know better now). I moved the arm and harness from the old to the new and installed the new assembly. It took about two hours to start making ice and the bin has been full ever since.

I would like to point out that I originally ordered the part from another site who had it $2.00 cheaper with "free ground shipping". I needed it sooner than 7 to 9 days so I upgraded to 2-day shipping for an extra $19.95. After two days, it turned out they still hadn't shipped the part! I cancelled and order from PartSelect. They only charged $12.95 for two-day shipping which more than made up for the misleading $2.00 price difference. PartSelect also delivered exactly when I expected. I learned my lesson and will use PartSelect first next time.

Ice Maker Stopped Producing Ice

Refrigerator door side lower closer cam broke
The worst part was unloading the door shelves. Removed upper hinge cover and hinge hex screws. This allows the door to be removed. Lay the door on side. Remove screw that holds cam in place. Replace
broken cam with new piece. Put the door back on the hinge pin and replace upper hinge screws and cover.
Now reload all of the stuff.

Ice maker not working
Removed old ice maker (3 screws) and disconnected power and water supplies. Next, cut out popout area at the rear of the water inlet resevoir (a utility knife works fine, just trace out the grooved area to seperate the area that needs to be opened so that the water supply hose can sit in the opening.. Then, cut a piece of plastic card stock(.020 to .030 thickness to close the side cut out of the water inlet resevoir. Use the super glue to fasten this piece. Place the new ice maker in place and fasten the screws.

Ice maker Frozen
First I removed the white cover on the front end.
Then, I unscrewed one screw under the icemaker in the freezer wall. Then, gently popped the icemaker out of the two tabs holding it on top. Then I unplugged the wire assembly out of the back of freezer squeezing the two tabs in on the plug. I took the wire assembly off the icemaker by pushing the tab down with a flathead while pulling the plug out. Next,
I transferred the wire assembly to the new icemaker pushing the plug until the tab was fully engaged. Then, using a flashlight and noticing the direction of the plug, I plugged the icemaker into the back wall. Then carefully lined up and worked the icemaker until it popped into the two holding tabs on the sidewall, replaced the screw on the sidewall and put the white cover back on. For note, I noticed on the inside old the icemaker that the teflon coating was peeling off so the ice was sticking and could'nt be pushed out and thus a frozen block Ice maker!

my ice maker stopped working
It was relatively easy to replace the ice maker...
I removed the two screws from the rail and the one screw underneath after unplugging the unit. The I removed the plug and transferred it to the new ice maker (if you've ever changed computer parts you'll find this very familiar). I then switched the arm assembly from the old ice maker to the new one and put it in the place where the old one was. A few twists of a nut driver and it was in. Unfortunately it still isn't working as it would appear it isnt my only problem... the ice maker is trying to pull water but it appears its having no luck.
