Post on Burner Knob Cracks and falls off because I use high heat with a Chinese Wok.
I have had this cooktop for 22 years, works great and still looks great because of black glass top and sealed burners. Burner knobs are on surface so wear out over time. I just take old one off and put new one on.

broken knob; super glue not holding up; needed replacement
began by gluing and using electrical tape around broken shaft. Lasted for a couple of months. Plastic is old and a bit brittle. Looked online; found site quickly; easy to navigate; easy to see part matches what I needed; easy to order; and received in a few days. It is not so much a repair in pulling off the old and putting on the new knob.

Broken knob on counter top gas range
Pushed the knob onto spindle, but that's not the story. Even though I had the model number of my counter top range, the local parts store could not locate the device anywhere. I went out to PartSelect web site and located the knob through the menu. I bought the knob based on the picture on the site.

Broke one of the knobs, needed a replacement
Just put on the new knob; I ordered two extras because this is the third one that's broken in the last two years. They came super quick, exactly what I ordered, for considerably less than KitchenAid was charging.

inner glass panel cracked
Remove the door. This takes less than a minute. pull the door up and out. have a friend help you do this. Set it on a table and remove the outside panel screws and separate the outer face cover from the inner. this will expose the many glass window. the inner window has screws hidden under foam strips. these four screws must be removed to gain access to all other window panes. clean and replace as needed, then reassemble. Be carful not to drop the glass panels. also make sure that any insulation is reinstalled. Reinstall the door back into the spring loaded hinges. done

Damaged Socket When Removing Bulb Base
This is a built-in oven, so the biggest problem was figuring out how to remove it from the cabinet. The solution turned out to be removing the cooktop above it and unscrewing two screws that connected the oven to the inside of the cabinet. The other problem was removing BOTH metal backs from the oven. The first one was easy. The second one wasn't. The old socket was recessed behind the second back, making it virtually impossible to access the metal "wings" that hold it in place, so I ended up pulling out the socket assembly from inside the oven with pliers.

Replaced Bake Element
FIRST: I Shut off the circuit breaker to the oven. Then: 1. Removed convection-fan cover (it was partially blocking the bake-element screws). 2. Unscrewed 2 bake-element screws. 3. Pulled old bake element forward to expose connectors. 4. Disconnected both connectors and discarded the old element. 5.Connected the new element and pushed it in so that plate was flush against the back of the oven. 6. Re-installed the 2 element screws. 7. Re-installed convection-fan cover. LASTLY: Turned on the circuit breaker to the oven and baked a cake! IMPORTANT: The original screws can be very, very tight. When removing them, be sure to use a socket wrench or other tool that gets a firm grip on the hex heads, or you could round the corners of the heads, permanently damaging the screws.
