RC5484W3 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

First I removed the two screws that held the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Then I removed the old element from the oven and replaced it with the new element. Then I connected the two wires to the new element and pushed the element into place. Then I replaced the two screws that held the element in place. I then tested the oven and it worked wonderfully.

This was so easy to do. First I took the two screws out of the holding plate. Then the element comes out and I took the two screws attaching the wires to each end of the element out. To replace it just reverse the above and turn it on let it heat for about 10 mins to burn off any residue and you are ready to start baking again. Although not really necessary it is reccommended to unplug or turn of the breaker before you start working on the problem.

First, we turned off power to the range. We removed the screws holding the element to the back wall of the oven and pulled out the element a few inches. We disconnected the 2 wires from the old element, and attached the new element with the 2 provided screws. We pushed the element back into the wall and secured it with the screws. Turned the power back on, turned the stove back on and, voila, the frozen pizza was well on its way to becoming dinner!

The first thing I did wrong was order the wrong part. Then later I did find the Model number on the side of the bottom drawer. I reordered the right part and turned off the electrical breaker. Removed the old element. I then installed the element in the oven with 2 screw nuts and pulled out the stove, took off the back panel and slipped the wire nuts onto the element. Very simple. I am really thankful there is a place to order the part and it came the next day after I ordered it. WHOW!

When I told my husband I ordered the part and was going to fix it myself, he laughed and said I might not have ordered the right part for the problem and I should just buy a new stove.
The part was delivered the day before Christmas, just 3 days after I placed the order! I had read the stories of others fixing theirs and gave it a shot. It took me longer to find the tools then it did to replace the element!
I took the screws out , pulled the element toward me and disconnected the wires. Put it back the way I found it. Oven heated up in less then 5 minutes!

After supper, without biscuits, I removed the element by simply removing 4 screws with my nut driver. We went home and I immediately went online to your web site, inserted the old element part number, followed the ordering instructions, and in 3 dayd the new element had been delivered to our door. Several days later we were invited to mom's for dinner once again. I quickly installed the new element (perfect fit and works great) and enjoyed a great supper........with biscuits this time. Made sure oven was turned off. I used nut driver to remove nuts holding old element to back of oven. gently pulled element out of wall, taking care not to yank because of wires attached to back of element. Made sure oven was off again and then used nut driver to carefully remove wire leads from receptors on element. removed old element from oven and got the new element. carefully used nut driver to attach wire leads to new element. When snugging the bolts to leads, used pliers to keep leads on the element from bending. carefully replaced wires and rear of element into the space behind oven, and used nut driver to attach the back of element to the back of oven. shut oven and turned on to make sure it worked. it did. I was very pleased with my experience with part select dot com, and will be buying another element soon to replace the one in my other oven! Thank you

The part was delivered in 24 hours with regular
shipping and was simple to replace. Uncrewed
it, disconnected wires from the old one and connected
the new one. Cost a little more than $30 including shipping and the oven works great!

I looked for a new terminal locally, but no one had s terminal that would fit a 40-year old range. I went on line to PartSelect and could not find my model range, so I looked through all the terminals listed on the website (about 500) but found only one that was close to mine. Mounting holes did not match, but it had 3 connectors with 220 capability, so I ordered it. I requested express shipping by UPS and thought I paid for the extra charge. When I got notification of shipment. I saw it was via ground. It went from Louisville to Jacksonville to Clearwater, FL. I ordered it on Thursday night and received it the following Tuesday night. Meanwhile, we had no stove to cook on. When the part came, it took two days to get the contractor back to our condo. He drilled new holes on the mounting box and jerry-rigged the wiring to make it fit. The range is now working, but I was disappointed in the delay in shipping which I agreed to express shipping.

1. Cut power off. 2. Remove old element, make sure you do not lose the screws, pull the connecting posts out and we used strings on posts so they could not get lost in the wall. 3. We then replaced the new element with little of no problems, it took approximately 30-45 minutes for the whole process.

remove 2 screws pull out, and had a little trouble with the 2 power lines(breaker turned off), as they were around 60 years old, used a nut driver, and plyers to hold leads, and reversed to install. went well considering the age of the oven. tested, broiler works well,(let it heat up for appx 2-3 min to burn off dirt, etc)

I initially only purchased the heating element since this usually the cause of the broil element not functioning well. It took a little longer to receive because I had to order it over the Holidays. Once it arrived it was very easy to replace. It worked very well after installation but the broil element still did not function. I then purchased the broil element and received it within approximately 4 days. It took just a little more time to replace because there was a brace that was attached to the upper oven that helped to hold it in place. Once the wires were attached with the screws it worked very quickly. It's nice to have my oven back in use again!

Hi, First unplug appliance ,remove the oven door by pulling it up from the hinges, giving room to work deep inside , remove the two screws that hold the element in place. then pull the element out carefully not to stress the wires and replace the element . Note after all is done test with an oven thermometor :)
