RB6584A2 General Electric Range - Instructions

I couldn't find the oven model number so I just looked at the shapes from partselect.com. This would have been fine except I didn't know my Kenmore model had 4" leads so the one I ordered were only 2". I had to return the first element but the process to do this was FAST and EASY. With help I found the model number and had the correct part shipped. It took less than 5 minutes to install. It took longer to mop and clean behind the oven that hadn't seen the light of day in 10 years.

Made sure oven was turned off. I used nut driver to remove nuts holding old element to back of oven. gently pulled element out of wall, taking care not to yank because of wires attached to back of element. Made sure oven was off again and then used nut driver to carefully remove wire leads from receptors on element. removed old element from oven and got the new element. carefully used nut driver to attach wire leads to new element. When snugging the bolts to leads, used pliers to keep leads on the element from bending. carefully replaced wires and rear of element into the space behind oven, and used nut driver to attach the back of element to the back of oven. shut oven and turned on to make sure it worked. it did. I was very pleased with my experience with part select dot com, and will be buying another element soon to replace the one in my other oven! Thank you

Turned off power. Removed old broken one installed new one in minutes. Turned power on and tested it out. If this 60 something lady can do it, you can too.

Very easy and simple/ After making sure power supply was off, removed socket screws in back plate of element, slid old element out, attached new element and replaced/tightened socket screws on plate and new element. Power on, oven on .. heated quickly and nicely. Used oven several times since ... no problems.

Flip the circuit breaker going to oven off, then used a 1/4 inch socket on the mounting flange bolts and the bolt head screws attaching the wires. Then used a flat head screwdriver to reattach the wires with the supplied screws and bolted the new element in place. Back to the circuit breaker flipped the switch and turned the oven on to test it, and now works fine. *be sure to remove the sticker before installation, use rubbing alcohol to remove any residue.*

Very easy repair. 2 hex head screws to take the heating element out. Then 2 more slot head screws for the wire connections. Perfect fit and operation of the new heating element.

The part was delivered in 24 hours with regular
shipping and was simple to replace. Uncrewed
it, disconnected wires from the old one and connected
the new one. Cost a little more than $30 including shipping and the oven works great!

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Removed the old piece and connected the wires to the new piece. I'm a woman and this took me less that 15 minutes to complete. Easy as pie. On top of that, I received my order within 3 days! I turned off the electricity, unscrewed the old one and disconnected the electric wires, then put the new one in just like the old one. It was very easy and now it works great.

The hardest part was working in the oven.

Turn off power
Open Oven Door, remove racks
Remove two mounting screws with nut driver.
Slide the element out to expose the wire connections.
Remove the screws and pull the element out.
Place the new element in oven.
Clamp on to each of the terminals with vice grips to keep from bending the element and install the screws.
Slide the element back into place and put the two mounting screws back in.

Put the racks back in and turn on the power and test. You may get a little smoke off the new coil.

Like I said the hardest part is leaning into the oven to attach the screws, do not sit on the oven door.

Unplugged range. Removed old element from back of oven which was held in by two screws. Unscrewed the wires that were attached to old element and screwed them into the new one.

Could not believe how fast the part shipped. 2 days and it was here. All it took was using a nut driver to remove 4 screws and then put the new one in.

My 17 year old son and I (his mom) replaced the oven element in less than 15 minutes!!! It was so easy. We first unplugged the stove since I didn't want to go and shut off the circuit breaker in the dark!! We then removed the two screws that hold the element in place and started to pulled out the element. It was actually corroding in my hands as I pulled it out. We disconnected the wires and then put in the new element by reconnecting the wires, pushing the connections back in and replacing the two screws that hold the element in. The oven heated right up!!! What a savings to do it yourself and not have a repairman charge us extra to do a 10 minute job!! Thank you Part Select for your fast service. I will definitely look here before I shop anywhere else.
