JMP26G0J5 General Electric Range - Instructions

1) Turn off power at circuit breaker panel
2) Slide out Range from wall
3) Unplug Range
4) Remove back panel and unplug electrical connections to socket
5) From front of oven, remove glass cover over old oven light bulb and remove flange that holds socket and bulb
6) Remove old socket from mounting flange and discard.
7) Place new socket into mounting flange
8) Screw mounting flange and new socket into the oven from front. Reattach electrical connections from back.
9) Screw in new light bulb from front
10) Replace existing glass cover over new light bulb and snap wire holder in place
11) Replace back panel
11) Plug in range
12) Slide range back to original position
13) Turn on power

I turned off the breaker to the oven. Removed the old element and replaced. Turned on the oven breaker and turned the over to 350 and it was working great. I was very proud of myself as a 68 year old widow.

Disconnect power. . . Remove control panel, pull wire connectors,[note location] remove old switch, install new, install wires, snip stem to length, set knob . . . Turn on power - works. [Note this is a live part even when not connected]

Removed single screw securing the old tilt-up burner. Removed clips on sides of clamshell ceramic terminal block with flat blade screwdriver to expose two wire connections. Removed 2 screws connecting the wires to the bad heating element. Did not use the supplied new ceramic terminal block, just reused old one. Connected new burner to wires with 2 screws. Reassembled terminal block with clips. Fastened clip with single screw to attach new unit to side of opening in range top. Tested. Done.

Replaced all the ordered parts, and straightened a bent "rest piece" (one of three) on the element os the large burner, which made it rest perfectly on the new Trim Ring. It doesn't easily fall down into the bowl now while I am using the burner. The new Bowls look so nice, and the stove looks nearly new!

I now know where to go for help when I need to repair appliances. You seem to have everything that could possibly be needed. Thank you!

Turned off the power to the oven. Removed the racks. Removed two screws holding the unit to the back of the oven. Removed two screws holding the wires to the terminals. Removed the old unit. Reversed the process. Piece of cake. The only "difficulty" was that the old wire-to-terminal screws required a nut driver (as did the unit-mounting screws) while the new wire-mounting screws required a #2 Phillips screw driver. Took me a couple of minutes to get one of those from the garage.

USE A MAGNETIZED SCREW DRIVER. BE CAREFUL THE OVEN ELECTRIC WIRES DO NOT FALL BACK INSIDE OF THE OVEN. HAVE LONG NOSE PLIERS HANDY. MAKE SURE YOU TILT THE ELEMENT SO THAT THE ELEMENT TERMINALS ALIGN PROPERLY WITH THE THE SCREWS AND ELECTRIC WIRES. THAT'S IMPORTANT ELSE YOU CANNOT GET THE SCREWS STARTED TO ATTACH THE ELEMENT.

Two 1/4 inch screws and then two Phillips head screws that was it

First I cut the power then I pulled the mounting screws, pulled hte elements out enough to get the screws out and then did it in reverse. Piece of cake.

Removed the nuts securing the element to the back of the oven, pulled out the wiring and unscrewed the wires. Went on line and found the part, ordered it, received really quickly and put the part back in the oven. Works great. Oh, I also turned off the power.

I was so relieved to find the replacement glass for the door on my built in microwave/oven. I was worried about shipping this tempered glass panel but it was recieved well packaged. As soon as I openned the packing, I removed 6 scews holding the trim around the oven door, slide in the new glass, reinstalled the scews and grabbed the glass cleaner. I was finished. Part select is a tremendous resource.

First shut the power to the stove,then had to slide the stove out so I could get at the back to remove the panel screws.Once you have the back off remove the knob on the front.Under the knob is 2 phillips screws that you need to remove.Next I took the new switch and matched up the wires to the old switch.Reinstall is the reverse.Once the switch is in place you must remove the excess shaft to match the length of the old one.This is done with the use of 2 pliers,you grasp the shaft with both pliers and snap it off where you need it.The kit comes with spacers so you have got to match up the right one so the switch is solid on the shaft.This finishes the project,next turn the power back on and check that all is working ok.Job finished.

Simple repair that was complicated by not being able to remove the oven door, leaving a long reach to the element connections in the back of the oven. Other than the accessibility issue, the repair is easy. Remove two scews, pull the element out about 3 inches to access and unscrew the screws holding the wires to the element. Then reverse the process with the new element. But, because of the long reach, there were alot of dropped screws and cussing.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires.
Then I connected the two wires to the new element with the screws provided and simply replaced the screws that hold the element in place.
In 20 minutes the job was done. It was a snap to make the repair!
