Removed the two screws that held the element in place. Pulled the unit out a few inches to get at the bolted wires. The hard part is reaching in the oven using bifocal lenses and trying to block out the oven light. Getting past that obstacle, the rest went very well.

Toughest chore was to find a tool to remove the two hex screws that held the element to the back of the oven. Once I found the proper tool, the rest was easy. Pulled the circuit breaker, removed the two hex screws, disconnected the two electrical leads and put the new part in and did everything in reverse. Probably saved over $100 doing it myself.

My Husband did the repair while I wasn't home. He didn't bother to shut off the power even though he should have. He didn't electicute himself or burn down the house and the oven works great so I guess it was a success!

Replacing the electric oven element was easy. It took about 20 minutes and all you need is a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. What you have to do first, turn the power to the oven OFF. Remove the original element carefully observing how
it was installed and install the new element in the same order.

First I turned the power off to the oven. Then I tried to take out the nuts holding in the element. One nut came off easily, the other one was rusted on, I had to use wd40 to loosen it. The project was easy once I got that nut off. I pulled out the element, which is connected to two wires. I took those screws out, connected the new element to the wires, re-attached the screws, pushed it back in, attached the nuts that hold the element in the oven. Then I turned the power back on and the oven works like a charm. I installed it the day I got it. I was surprised how quickly it was shipped to my house. I am so glad I repaired the oven, a new one would have cost over $800, I bought the element for less than $30, including shipping! It also sets a good example for my daughter. It taught her that her mom can repair things too, it's not just something men can do!

Removed the bad part. There were 4 screws,

When part arrived I installed it using the screws that I removed when I took out the bad part.

First I Shut off the breaker from the fuse box
Tried to turn oven on to make sure I tripped the correct breaker
Removed element from back wall of oven by removing 2 screws using a socket set
Gently pull out element a few inches and then unscrew 2 wires from the bake element using a phillips screwdriver
Replace old element with the new one
Screw wires to element
Attach new element to back wall of oven making sure the rectagular hole is totally covered and the element is flush against the back wall
Replace screws attaching baking element to back of oven wall
Turn on breakers and test the oven

Removed the coverplate screws, slid the element outward, and removed the wire connecting screws. Positioned the new element to reconnect the wires, and discovered this isn't easy to see with trifocals. Succeeded after several failed attempts. Slid the new element into position, and reattached the cover plate.

several months ago the bake element in my oven started cracking. When it started sparking I knew I had to replace it or get a new oven. I ordered the part and it was easy. The old one fell apart as I removed it. I honestly don't know how it was still heating. Anyway, all I did was turn off the electric to the oven, then I had to remove to screws that attached it to the wall of the oven. That was the hardest part because I couldn't see them well so I had to put a lantern in the oven. Then I had to pull it out enough to remove the screws from within. Then I just reversed the process to install and everything worked great! Saved me a lot on calling a repair man.

I read your website repair testimonials by previous customers and used that advise to do the job. I liked the suggestion to use something to attach to the unattached wires so they don't slip back into the unit. I used two clothespins. I had one stubborn electrical connection to disconnect so it took a little longer -about 30 minutes. But it was a simple job to do and my oven works fine again. The item was delivered timely from the order date and packaged well. Thank-you!

Unscrewed the broken element from the back of the inside of the oven, then unscrewed the connected wires from the element and did the reverse with the new element. Viola.

Before touching anything, however, I made sure the oven was in the off position and also went to the house circuit breaker box and flipped OFF the appropriate circuit breaker(s). There were two - one for the element and another for the rest of the controls.

When everything was in place, I turned the power back on and turned on the oven and was cooking again. We had Prime Rib for Easter.

Put in the new element and reconnected the wires. Pushed the wires and element back into place and screwed in the screws that hold the element in place.

Turned on power and ran the oven for a while to verify that it worked and to burn off any oils on the element.

Removed the two screws that held the element in place. This required the use of a socket wrench. Removed the screws that were attached to the lead wires. The screws were of the sheet metal type.
Once the new element was in place I did have some difficulty attaching the screws to the lead wires. The reason for this was because the screws that came with the new element were threaded and I had a hard time getting the screws started because of the small size and the limited amount of slack from the lead wires. A magnetic screw driver would have made the job much easier.
