lower heating element burned out
i removed the 2 screws that held the elrment in place. then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires , reconenected the 2 wires to the new element and pushed it back in and replaced the 2 screws. the only part available locally was through a service man who would not sell it without installing it. at twice the price plus a service call.

The lower heating element in the oven did not work
I ordered a replacement heating element for the bottom of the oven. All I had to do was to remove one screw on each side holding the element in and supposedly pull the element out to expose the spades on each end to unplug them and plug the new element in. As I did that, I touched the metal case of the oven and welded the spade off of the old element. I couldn't pull the old element out into the oven. First lesson---unplug the stove before doing this! I think that the reason I couldn't pull the rods of the element out into the oven is because they were tangled in the insulation. I then took the back of the stove partially off, pushed the rods out the back holes to expose the spades. The one that was melted could still be pulled out, so then I just plugged the wires to the spades on the element, pushed them back and put the screws back in on the inside. Another tip would to have a screwdriver that fits well. These were really tight, and you could strip the heads of the phillips slots. Anyway, the stove works fine. I could have pulled the elements with the wire into the oven, but since I had a welding job because I didn't turn the electricity off, it took me longer.

Oven would take 45 min to heat to 425
The repair worked GREAT! It took less than 10 minutes and now the oven heats to 400+ in 5 minutes...the element came via regular shipping in 3 days. We were ready to buy a new slide in unit for 1000.00, now we have a 23 year old oven that works better than when it was new!! All for around 30 dollars. THANK YOU!

The heating element in the oven broke in two.
Removed the old element by removing two screws and pulling the ends through the back wall. Removed the wires simply by unplugging them. Plugged wires into new element, put back through back wall and secured with 2 screws.

The appliance repair service had never heard of this old brand, but I was able to order this and have it shipped at a more economical price than any other appliance parts service. All the repair service had to do was to walk in and install.
