Part just snapped into place and wires were reattached.

Unscrewed the control panel (2 screws), lift up and let hang, with a plan screwdriver open bracket holding the switch, unplug 2 wires, replace with new switch, plug in the 2 wires, push switch back into bracket. Then slide on the control panel, put the 2 screws back. Easy fix.

With this model, you must remove the outer covering. Don't try to access the display unit from the front like I've seen in some other GE microwave videos. After removing the outer covering, the switches are easy to replace. They are very visible and easy to get to without taking any other parts off. You will see the door switches just behind the display board. Remove the switch and then remove the connecting wires to ensure you don't inadvertently brake a wire. You will need a tamper resistant star bit to remove 3 or 4 screws from the back panel. All other screws are philips head. I went ahead and replaced both switches (yes...there are two of them) and works like a charm. I saved an $800 microwave for less than $60 and know what to do if it happens again. Remove the top of the microwave, regular phillips screws on sides, torque screws on back. Lift up back and slide off cover. Light bulb socket is easily detached and bulb unplugged and replaced. Slide cover from back lifted slightly so lip will slide into front of microwave, than replace screws. Be sure to unplug microwave before you start.

Cut the wire connection of access door on the bottom of the oven. Once access door was removed, I took the screw holding the drive motor in place, removed the wire connector and taped the connection to oven so that it did not drop into the bottom of the oven pulled motor out. Put new motor in, put connector back on motor secured the motor with the scre, put access door back in place put roller guide on the drive motor from inside of the oven and put plate on roller and turned it on for a test. it worked.

Replaced the fuse. Result; did not fix the problem.

AFter I put the roller guide and glass cooking tray inside the microwave it still didn't spin. After check with the video, I was warned not to try to replace the motor which spins the tray, that there was a chance of electrical shock. I took the oven to my repair place and they made the repairs.

Replace the fuses

First I took out the screws holding the sides and back to the microwave. I discovered that the rotissereie motor was also damaged, but had an old GE microwave that had quit working-took out motor from other GE(motor was the same), installed motor in microwave, lined up pin to roller assy. and that was it!

I have the built-in microwave in the cabinet. The hard part was getting it out of the cabinet. Once out, removing the cover and replacing the bulb and fuse was very easy. You need the tamper proof star bits to take out the screws holding the cover to the microwave. I got the bit set from Amazon for about $8. My fuse was OK. But I replaced it anyway, since it was 4-year-old. I am no expert in appliance repair, but found it fairly easy to do the repair. After unplugging the microwave, wait for 20 to 30 minutes before opening it, so that the capacitor inside completely discharges. It is supposed to discharge in 30 seconds, but why take a chance of electrocution..?

Removed cover, diagnosed problem, ordered part from Parts Select, received part in 2 days, replaced part, tested and replaced oven into built in space.

bought a fuse but that didn't solve the problem. Guess I need a new microwave

It was extremely easy. I put the microwave on my table upside down and could see the motor thru the holes in the bottom cover. It appeared as though the outside skin had to be removed to access the motor but after looking at it there is an access panel I did have to cut it loose. Not bolted on. There was a message stamped into the bottom case next to the panel that said to debur after panel is removed. So I cut it loose on 3 sides was able get to the one screw swap the motor and reinstall it in about 5 minutes. It works like new What an easy and quick repair. Thanks

I went on line, put in microwave repair and watched a video on repair. I then took the oven down from over the range and took it apart. I could see were the magnetron had burned out. There was a hole with obvious burn marks. I went on line looking for the needed part. I clicked on PartSelect and order the magnetron. I received the part within three days, regular shipping. As I had not put the oven back together it took only a few moments to save 150 to 200+ dollars. I put it back together and happy, happy me, it worked.

Removed microwave cover using screwdriver and anti tamper bit available at local hardware store. Megnetron had broken magnet making discovery of deffective part easy. Removed wire connector and three screws attaching magnetron to case, removed magnetron and installed new item in reverse order. Installed cover and made popcorn for operational check of microwave. Happy days..........
