JVM1861WD002 General Electric Microwave - Instructions

Most mirco wave have a plate on the bottom to protect turn table motor. This one had no screws - it has 6 tabs holding the protective cover. Used pliers to tear tabs. Used philip's driver to remove screw and turned motor to come out. Went back in reverse order replacing motor. Left protective plate off

Removed five screws from the underside of the mircowave. Disconnected the two prong plug in. Removed the one screw that held the motor and replaced with new motor. Reconnected the plug and replaced the five screws
Tested the result with a bag of microwave popcorn. Worked perfectly.

As in other postings, remove six screws on the bottom of the microwave, disconnected the the plug,unscrew two screws to remove the old motor...(it took longer to get the new part out its box then it did to make the repair) unpacked the new part, put in the two motor screws, put in the six screws to hold the microwave bottom in place and waalaa...done!

about 6 philips head screws along the bottom drops that cover off. 2 more hold the motor in place.

carefully remove the 2 wire plug onto the motor . do not touch or get near the black wire.unless you want to get shocked.like i did.

remove the 2 motor screws.put the new one up and turn untill the screw holes are the holes in the
lower inner cover. reinstall the screws .reinstall the plug and lower plate.

having been a auto mechanic till i retired, helped me a lot.total time to make the repair was about 15 min.

this is not my first order from parts select and all i can say is they rock with the best of service i have ever gotten for appliance parts. and prices one can not found to beat for factory parts.

removed the damaged / broken rack holder. inserted the new rack holder.

it was easy . i unsrewed 2 srews and it went right in place

I took it apart and found a small electric motor was not working . I couldn't find it locally so I ordered it from partselect and it was here in just a few days.the repair was easy only a few screws and plug it in.

Removed 5 screws to allow lower pan to hang down. Unplug motor, remove 2 more screws that hold motor in and pull it out. and reverse process for reinstallation of new motor. Took all of 4 minutes allowing time to drink a beer while taking the new motor out of the box

First I removed the 6 screws that hold the bottom panel in place. I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires and then connected the two wires to the new element. Secured the element in place and replaced bottom panel.

First I unplugged microwave oven, then removed the six screws at the bottom of the microwave and lowered the base to expose the small motor. I removed the motor and replaced it with the new one. From inside the oven I pushed the drive shaft back into the new motor, then replaced the bottom with the six screws. I plugged the oven in and tested it. It worked! In less than 15 min. I saved over $220, and I'm a 65 year old Grandma! Thank you, thank you!

This is the 3rd time I have used PartSelect to help me repair appliances I never thought I could fix on my own. Told by appliance repair service that parts were very expensive and service call started at $80 minimum. Finding replacement motor on your site was very easy. Instructions on repair were very complete and included pictures of the motor itself which had same capacity as replacement motor. Before ordering part from PartSelect I followed the online instruction for repair/replacement of the Microwave table motor and it was exactly as described. Removed filters and 10 screws with a single Phillips head screw driver. Motor looked the same as picture and ordered it. Part arrived in 24 hours and it took 4 minutes to replace the motor from start to finish. Total costs including shipping was approx 40 dollars. Great service and great site. This is my second repair using PartSelect.

Repair was simple. Remove screws on bottom panel of microwave, let cover hang on hinges. Remove two screws from drive motor, remove old motor, insert new motor, replace two screws, then reattach bottom panel. Done!

Quiet has returned to my microwave:-)

I also discovered that the (night light) bulbs are much easier to replace when the bottom panel is lowered.

Removed the five screws that allowed the bottom panel of the microwave to drop down at an angle, still attached at the rear. Took the old motor out by removing the two screws holding it and replaced it with the new motor. Reversed to process to install the new motor. Had to take off the plastic piece inside the microwave that holds the glass plate that turns and then replace it after I got the new motor installed.
