door latch arm broken, microwave wont start
This was easier than I had expected. Many of the instructions involved removing the door. I decided to skip this when I found a Youtube video showing that the latch replacement required little disassembly. Here are my steps #1 Open door completely and, if needed, have someone steady it. #2 Using a thin plastic putty knife, gently pry off the plastic fascia from the inside of the door. Try to break as few of the plastic retaining tabs as possible (my total was about 10). #3 Slide the old latch upward and outward towards the outside edge of the door with your putty knife. #4 Remove the old latch and spring. #5 Attach the new spring to the latch and hook it to the retainer on the door. #6 Lift the new latch into place, it will drop into the slots with no or little persuasion. #7 reinstall fascia. #8 "nuke" last night's pizza ;)

Opened door to get food put more food in closed door it wouldnt work
Everything worked on the display light inside worked but when you closed the door and set time it would start counting down but not heating nor would the turntable turn. Started reading troubleshooting chart and first thing I did was removed the cover and checked door switches and found primary door switch wasn't working so I ordered a new one installed it and it worked. Anyone doing this has to be very careful because of the stored energy in the capacitor is strong enough to kill.
My micro is only 2 years old so I was hoping it wasn't anything major.

Handle Broke off microwave
First I removed the vent on top. 2 screws had to be removed. Once plastic vent was removed I could lift door off. I then placed the door flat on counter top to get to backside of door. With 2 flat screwdrivers I pried apart the Door choke cover carefully as to not break the tabs. Its almost impossible not to break them. Thats why I ordered the replacement part. Good thing. I only broke 1. I could have reused it. However I chose to use the new one. Since handle in incorporated in the door, you have to take the door apart. I purchased the Door choke cover as well as a handle. After you remove the choke cover, remove the 6 or 7 small screws around the inner frame next. Now you can get to the door handle screws. Since the door handle broke off, you need to use needle nose pliers to hold the broken plastic on the outside of the door while unscrewing the inside screw that holds the handle. Once removed. replace the handle. Then carefully put it back the same way you took it apart. It took me about 15 to 20 minutes. Im a Female and thrilled I didn't have to call a repairman and get charged 200+

the glass circular tray inside had cracked in half.It was of no use. I reordered another
The tray came within 5 days and I simply took it out of its well-packaged box and slipped it into my microwave. It is working just like new. I can't thank you all for being so punctual and reliable. better than having to buy a brand new microwave.

Would not heat and made a buzzing or popping sound
Unplug the microwave. Remove the Philips head and safety Torx head screws along the bottom of the sides and rear of the microwave which hold the black cover on. Lift the cover up at the rear and slide it backwards to disengage the tabs on the front top. Remove the cover. Discharge the capacitor by shorting the terminals to each other and then ground. Do this with a well insulated object and be aware there may be a pop when you do this. Keep hands, etc. on the insulated part of the object (screwdriver handle, etc). There's a lot of stored energy in that capacitor. I'd advise first checking the diode to make sure its not bad. Replace it if it is. The Magnatron is held in with a couple of screws on the top and sides. Unplug the connector and remove the screws. Remove the Magnatron. Installation is the reverse of removal.

I broke the vent grille on my microwave trying to remove it for cleaning
The repair was easy, just two screws but I was very impressed with the price and swift delivery of the part from PartSelect.com. The vent grille was almost $40 less than it cost on the GE website and I had the part in 3 days. Thanks!

The Door Latch on the Avantium Microwave Oven
I removed the door, by taking off the grill at the top. Then, take the puddy knife and screw driver and pry the facing off of the door. Please remember to be very careful because this is a sensitive piece. This is the most difficult part. It is a piece of cake after this. This should take about 15 minutes from beginning to end.
