FMV145KS001 General Electric Microwave - Instructions

1)Removed the screws holding the bottom cover of the microwave (this is an over-the-stove mounted microwave), the panel was hinged so it stayed in place. There were approx 10 screws to remove.
2)disconnected the motor (easy snap off)
3)removed the motor (2 screws mounted it
4)mounted the new motor, plugged it in, screwed the bottom panel in place and it was ready to go.

remove the 8 screws from the bottom of the micro and remove plate, now you can see the turn motor and the wires that connect to the motor. remove the 2 screws holding the motor in place and install the new motor and screw back the bottom plate into the micro.

Removed the two screws and removed the element replaced it with the new one, pluged back the wires,thats it.

1. Unplugged microwave
2. Removed the 7 screws holding the bottom of the microwave in place (it thing swings down on a rear hinge).
3. Pulled plastic wire connector apart.
4. Removed 2 screws holding motor drive in place and pulled motor.
5. Installed new motor, replacing the 2 screws that hold it in place.
6. Swing up cover and install 7 screws.
7. Plug unit in. It's a snap, don't pay for a repair man. Also parts here at partselect were much lower than at GE's website. It's easy. Thanks.

Over the counter microwave. Unplug Microwave. Removed screws for the vent cover and it droppped down then unplugged wires from drive motor, took out two screws from drive motor and put new drive in plugged wires back in then put vent cover back on. Plug microwave back in works perfect.

I removed the five screws that hold the cover plate on the bottom of the microwave flollowed by removing the electrical connection. Then I removed one screw to remove the motor. Replaced with new motor and screwed into place. Final was to connected electric and then returned the plate and fastened with the five screws.

Disconnected the power, removed seven screws, disconnected wires, removed two screws, slipped the motor out, and reversed the process. Someone suggested that I cover the stove with a towel so I wouldn't lose screws - an invaluable tip. Also, make sure that you can tell the damaged motor apart form the new one. It is easy to mix up.

It took longer to look up the part than it did to repair the microwave. I followed the advice of others: unscrew the bottom screws, remove 2 screws to get the old motor out and then reverse the process. Total time was around 10 minutes.

I ordered the part on Friday A.M. and it was delivered Saturday. It took less than 15 minuets to replace the drive motor. I could not be happier.

First I removed the screws that hold the bottom of the microwave and filters in place. Then I unplugged the motor and removed it by removing two additioanl screws. Putting the new motor in was just as simple as removing the old one. Best of all; in less than 10 minutes I was done and everything works perfect and it only took a phillips screwdriver to accomplish the task

removed screws on the bottom of the MW took out 1 screw and replaced the part - very easy - 5 minutes - no problems

Turned power off to microwave.Removed 5 screws holding bottom cover of microwave. Removed 2 screws holding motor. removed connector wires. inserted new motor . connected wires and 2 screws. Replaced bottom cover with 5 screws. Everything working great now.

Excellently easy. I followed previous postings. 5 screws to remove from the bottom edge (3 front, 1 on each side).

This microwave hangs over the stove below.

removed the 6 screws that holds the bottom cover.
the disconect the two wires.......remove 2 screws that holds the element. replace new element with the 2 screws connect 2 wares add the bottom cover connect the 6 screws . so easy .and saved service call plus money, thank you do it yourself.
