Drive motor noisy and slow
Removed mesh filters from fan inlet (to clean). Removed 6 philips screws. THis allowed the bottom panel holding the light assemblies to hinge down exposing the floor of the microwave and the drive motor. Removed the connector from the drive motor and the the two screws holding it to the floor. Used the opportunity to clean this area greasy from cooking oils and such. Put in new motor rotating the glass plate in the microwave until the drive shaft located on the turntable. Attached the two screws holding the motor in place using a magnetc screwdriver. Swung the light panel back in place and put back the 6 screws. Replaced the cleaned mesh filters. Checked the unit out with a glass of water. Voila - it was fixed.

Glass Cooking Tray motor failed - tray would not turn
Unplugged microwave (plugged in inside cabinet above so no need to kill the breaker)

Removed seven screws from bottom panel. (I suggest leaving the front center screw in to hold up the panel while removing the others.)

Removed two motor mounting screws. Removed plug from motor.

When removving the plug from the motor one of the metal connectors crimped on the end of the wire came out of the plug housing. Had to push it back into the housing before re-installing on new motor. To avoid this problem I suggest using a flat screwdriver to loosen the plug contacts from the motor before trying to pull the plug off.

I received the correct part in the amount of time promised. Great Service!

Our 5 yr old microwave starting making a grinding kind of noise that gradually got worse, til the turntable stopped turning.
1. Unplugged microwave
2. Removed the 7 screws holding the bottom of the microwave in place (it thing swings down on a rear hinge).
3. Pulled plastic wire connector apart.
4. Removed 2 screws holding motor drive in place and pulled motor.
5. Installed new motor, replacing the 2 screws that hold it in place.
6. Swing up cover and install 7 screws.
7. Plug unit in. It's a snap, don't pay for a repair man. Also parts here at partselect were much lower than at GE's website. It's easy. Thanks.

Microwave turntable stopped turning
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires.
I then reconnected the 2 wires to the new motor and tightened it back into place. I turned the microwave over and tested fine.
The only problem was that I couldn't find the motor I needed in the same rpm. But all turned out great.
Good company and very fast delivery.
