JVM1790SK01 General Electric Microwave - Instructions

Take the pliers and place a tight grip on the broken rack bracket, twist toward front of microwave until loose, pop out and by hand insert new rack bracket, twist toward the back of microwave until fully in place. One side was slightly harder than the other taking off and replacing rack bracket.

Removed control panel assembly. Removed control board from front panel. Installed control board into new front panel. Reinstalled control panel assembly.

I could not for the life of me figure out how to get into the light housing so I could replace the bulb, nor did I have any idea which bulb to buy. The manual for this model descibes how to replace the underside lighting but they seem to have left out instructions about the interior. I watched the short "how-to" video on this site, bought the bulb that was described and replaced the bulb in five minutes without any issues.

I used a phillips screwdiver to open the light cover protecting the halogen bulbs (2) both had burned out and needed to be replaced. A bit akward to replace, but within 5 minutes both were removed. I called your part service department to order replacements,(friendly and courteous service I might add!)was told that they would arive in about 3-5 days. 1.5 days later they were on my doorstep...They were promptly plugged into my GE underhood mounted microwave, now I am back in service! You've won me over and I will tell all my friends about you. Thanks again!

Opened the cover. Removed burned out bulbs. Ordered replacements which arrived fairly quickly. Forgot to turn off power to unit (didn't matter in the end!). Using the bubble wrap the new bulbs came in, I inserted the bulbs one by one into their respective sockets. Not really tricky but the surface light is in the back of the microwave so I had to lean over the stove to get all the way back. Once in the bulbs worked fine. Closed the cover. All back to normal.

My daughter hand installed bulbs without a problem, took a minute and used a phillips to reinstall the cover. I shopped on-line because I wasted two hours between Lowe's and Home Depot trying to get the right bulb. I did think your postage was crazy high, otherwise glad to get the right bulbs to solve the problem.

Removal of the bulbs was easy; reinserting was not as easy due to the configuration/placement of the bulbs in the unit. It was interesting that a simple suggestion to keep the bulbs covered with some of the packing material made sense as to not directly handling the bulb itself and causing any contamination of the bulb(s).

I was so happy to find this part. I had been using an upside down glass bowl to level the rack! once I found part and it arrived it was in in less than 5 seconds!!

take out two screws remove cover install new one put two screws back in that's it fit like a glove.

Buying the bulb and doing the replacement my self was the best thing I had done. The same problem happened last year and I had the American Home shield insurance at that time so I called the company and they took three weeks between ordering and replacing the light, they showed me the final bill and it was $240.00....!!! This time I bought the light through partselect, got it within 48 hours and did he replacement myself within 15 min, I followed the instructions on the video and had to do an extra step ( due to the model I have) but I was able to replace the bulb and yooohooo it was working when I reconnect the power... I am a person who never tried to fix any electrical appliance before, but after this experience I will always try to do it myself... Believe me if I can do it and felt it was easy you can do it.... I am seventy...step stool, phillips screw driver and installed the new vent....My ordered part came in the appropriate time..Thank you for your service..

remove 2 phillips screws from old canopy mica then a mixing fan and plastic retainer will fallout that holds the mixing fan in place. To install new canopy mica take your fingernail or something and scrap the three melted posts on the retainer that fits in new canopy mica on the retainer. If it is loose use a small amount of super glue to attach to new conopy mica to the retainer.Guide mica and glued retainer with fan up onto the post that runs the mixing fan.slide the right side corners in slots and tighten scews.preheat oven and good to go.

bought a fuse but that didn't solve the problem. Guess I need a new microwave

Replaced the cord, attached it to the light fixture, and then replaced the cover for the bottom of the appliance
