Replaced door handle after 3 years of super glue
The instructions were great!!! It was difficult to take the face plate off without breaking the nibs off that hold it in place. Other then that the only issue I had was removing the broken piece that was cemented in place by the years of super glue. Had to drill it out and almost drilled out the receiver plate to hold the screw/handle in place. I have to say this saved me $400 because I was just about to buy a new microwave because the broken door handle had driven me crazy over the last 3 years.

Broken door handle due to heat stress and age 11 yrs.
I removed the plastic perimeter molding from inside of door. You can carefully pry it loose with a narrow putty knife. the door handle screws are located directly behind were the handle attached to the outside of the door. I found that a #2 phillip head screwdriver tip with a large handle for good torque and grip works best however the old plastic post inside the face of the door were turning along with the screws from the opposite side. I used a needle nose plyers to hold onto the plastic barrels in the outside of the door while turning the phillips head screwdriver on the inside at the same time. I found this to be somewhat difficult. You must achieve a good bite with the pliers!

Timer operated normally, but the microwave did not heat water or cook food.
Our GE Profile Advantium 120 Series Over-the-Range Microwave stopped working. We called GE Service. The first available appointment was two weeks after our call. The technician charged $99, gave us a form stating that the Magnetron and Diode Cable as defective and quoting an additional price of $362 to furnish and install these parts. He said that it would be another two weeks before he could do the work. Instead I ordered the parts from you and had them within two days. The parts you furnished were identical to the original parts in our unit. They arrived within two days. I installed the parts without removing the microwave from the wall. The most difficult part was inserting the magnetron mounting screws into openings in the rather tight space available. I was able to do this by using plastic pacaging tape to hold the screws onto the end of a short Phillip screw, Prior to iserting each screw I pushed it through the sticky side of a piece of packaging tape. I then folded the sticky surface over the shank of the screw. Once a screw was seated, but before it was fully tightened, I used needle nose pliers to pull off the tape. The unit now functions perfectly.

Door handle broken
This wasn't easy to do, it would have been better to have two people. Taking the plastic trim off the inside of the door is tough, and only gets you access to the top screw. (You need to take that trim off to remove the door, and you have to put the door back on before you put the trim back, by the way.) You have to remove the shield covering the glass in order to get to the bottom screw. I didn't think I'd be able to get that shield off, and another set of hands to help pry it up would have been helpful. All in all, it's worth doing because the part is only $40 or so, but I can't call it an easy fix. Also, since the top of the handle had broken where the plastic screw sleeve meets the handle, and the screw was still inside the sleeve, it was almost impossible to get the screw out. Needlenose pliers wouldn't do it. I finally had to use a drill to drill away at the plastic sleeve until it was almost completely gone to get the screw out.

Change a burnt out bulb
Opened the lid over the bulb by removing one screw. Removed old bulb; a bayonet type with delicate prongs. Inserted new bulb. Best to turn off circuit breaker toi the micro for safety reasons.

Oven would not operate after we noticed that the catch inside the door was broken
Removed the door, removed the old choke cover (breaking all the stap catches), removed the slide door latch assembly from the spring (the most difficult task) then reassembly of the latch to spring, sliding into the grooves along the inside of the door, the installing the new choke cover (very easy with the new one) taking care not the break any of the staps. Easy enough! Another difficult task was to re-install the door to the frame. It appears that the lower "hinge" is slightly bent down to allow easy install but the door now makes a slight sweeking sound when opening and closing.

Had preheated the convection/microwave oven to bake 2 frenchbread pizzas for 25 minutes. Placed aluminum tray on top of glass plate with pizzas. 20 minutes into baking the plate cracked in half. Why? Don't know. Never had before.
Unpacked glass plate from cardboard box and placed atop rotating spindle inside oven - done.

bulb burned out
opened the access door. It took some tugging to get the old bulb out, and is was awkward getting the prongs on the replacement bulb lined up and pushed in, but it was accomplished in about 10 minutes. You had exactly the right information on a change in the part number that was made by GE, and you shipped the correct bulb the same day I ordered it.Good job. N R Brown
