RK960G*02 Hotpoint Microwave Oven Combo - Instructions

Removed burn out element,very easy to installed, screwed them in, done that fast!

Bottom bake element is fastened to back wall by 2 screws remove those first.
Slowly pull out old bake element notice 2 wires are fasten to old bake element by 2 philips head screws. Remove screws from wires fastened to old bake element
Discard old bake element.

Reverse the order for assembly.
Replacement part is the exact fit and entire replacement took 15 minutes.

EASY REPLACEMENT

Unscrewed the old one and screwed in the new one

1. isolate the main power supply. 2. remove backplate on old element,remove connecting terminals from old element; and withdraw from oven. 3. connect new element[make sure the connection is firm].replace backplate and secure with the two screws provided. switch on power, oven working perfectly.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires on the element. Put in the new element and reconnected the wires. Pushed the wires and element back into place and screwed in the screws that hold the element in place.

I have to admit that I tried to remove the element myself but I did not have the right tool for the last two screws. If I did it would have been very easy. I ordered the part and had someone else put it in so I cheated.

Turn off circuit breaker. Release bake element from back of oven with a phillips head screwdriver. Remove bake element from heating wires with an adjustable wrench. 1/4 nutdriver was a little to big large for the old screw. Do not allow wires to fall back into the installation. Reverse the procedures for installing the new bake element. Most difficult part of the repair is having old eyes and not being able to focus on the work site which is about 12- 14 inches from your eyes. Young people with good eyes no problem. Oven heats like a new unit.

having read instructions from previous PartSelect users it was a snap. Nutdriveer, and screw driver were the only tools needed. This was a wall oven and the most difficulty I had was getting to the nuts with the door open. I really didn't want to take off the door.

I read your website repair testimonials by previous customers and used that advise to do the job. I liked the suggestion to use something to attach to the unattached wires so they don't slip back into the unit. I used two clothespins. I had one stubborn electrical connection to disconnect so it took a little longer -about 30 minutes. But it was a simple job to do and my oven works fine again. The item was delivered timely from the order date and packaged well. Thank-you!

New element arrived in a couple of days! We turned off breaker to oven, removed the old one which only involved two screws. Then we had to connect new one and re-attach metal square, only tricky part was getting the metal square positioned correctly but that was really not hard, just made sure insulation was covered and plate went back in same position. If we had called a eepair company it would have taken a week or more and probably been expensive!

On thanksgiving day, as we were pre-heating the oven, electric sizzle, sparks and a little flame comes from our 24 year old oven. We were able to get dinner on the table and that evening I went looking for what I thought was going to be a difficult to find part. But I found the part on partselect. I ordered that evening and got it on saturday. Installation was a snap. The most difficult part was the nuts holding the wires were stuck on from time and heat and I worried about the wire from the small plate to the coil might break. A little wd-40 and a few minutes and they popped right off and right back on. Works great now.

Easy! Removed the screws, took out the damaged element, reversed the process with the the new element. I called in my order on Monday and Wednesday evening the oven was repaired! It doesn't get any better than that. Thanks for the great service.

Took the old one out and replaced with the new one. It was just awkward to get at.
