Transmission quit working.
Replaced the drive belt (didn’t fix), inspected wheels and gears, didn’t notice anything wrong. Tried to spin transmission with wheels elevated and wouldn’t spin. Assumed transmission was bad.

Removed bolts from belt cover and removed belt. Took wheels off being careful to remove and save washers and snap rings. Once wheels were removed transmission (with axel) slid off pretty easy. Replaced with new one and reinstalled washers and snap rings. Put wheels back on and took outside to test it. It worked for a few minutes then froze up. Took wheels back off and found the washer and snap ring on the left side came off the axel. Replaced snap rings and washers then reinstalled. Worked perfect after that. Bottom line, I highly recommend replacing the snap rings with new ones.
