WED7590FW1 Whirlpool Dryer - Instructions

I followed the instruction for the video I got by email from partselect when I placed the order. 1. Removed front cover at the bottom of the machine. 2. Remove and take out the element base and pull out the element. 3. Install the new element. 4. Test. 5 Close front cover. 5 Run it

poped off front bottom panel just a couple screws to take loose slid out the heat element saved 172.00 dollers

This was such an easy repair that my brother (who is a handyman but with no dryer experience) was able to remove the old element and install the new one in about 30 minutes. I was so happy that I found this website and that the part worked on the first try. I think my dryer works better than ever before!!

Removed the front lower skirt with two 1/4"hex screws. Vaccumed all inner parts exposed. Removed three 1/4" screws holding the blower housing.Memoved the bias thermister again two 1/4" screws. Make sure all inner exaust pipes and rear chimney gas or electric are clean and lint free. Re assemble and test the unit. Install the skirt and make sure the dryer is level Jack, Pa.

My dryer is one of the energy efficient models (HE). The video for the installations was knowledgeable, but getting into the front of mine only required removing to screws from the bottom left & right corner (not using a putty knife to pop the springs). the plate on the front drops after that. Also when taking out the tube with the dryer element in it took a lot more twisting inside the frame to get it loose. Still turn it after the wire connections have been pulled off a little bit better than 1/4 of a turn. Also the heating element was in there really, really tight. It required tapping on the plate with a screw driver and a rubber hammer to take it out & put in (not that tough). After putting it in a 1/4 of a turn so that the tab was inside the blower tube. everything after that was pretty easy. The video showed this all being done in a clean dryer. It has been my experience that before all is running & closed back up that a vacuum or shop vac needs to go thru there to clean things up & prevent a future fire.

After removing the back & top of the dryer,I determined the noise was coming the idler pulley.I went online w/ model # & found Partselect.com.I ordered the dryer repair kit (at my door in 3 days) which included all the rollers,idler pulley, belt & hardware.It was an easy job to do even tho instructions were for top control panel model (mine is a whirlpool duet- front control) I did try using silicone lubricant on idler pulley, which worked to quiet dryer for a couple days so my wife could use it while I was waing for parts.Two thumbs up to Partselect.com,I will be purchasing all my appliance repair parts from them..I own all whirlpool stainless steel appliances that have been very reliable,but it's nice to know I have Partselect to fix problems as needed.

Removed the bottom front panel. The difficulty was in locating and testing the components because of access. Removing the heater required removing the heat shield and bracket and restraining screws, and then pulling out the heater with pliers which was stuck because of age. Dryer now works fine.

diognostic suggested thermal fuse or thermistor. Thermistor tested low resistance (<2K olms). Replaced thermistor and dryer heat returned.

Watched a brief video on YouTube and followed step by step. Real easy.

flipped THE BREAKER (very important!). Removed the cover on the bottom of the dryer (2 screws), made easier because dryer is stacked on top of washer. Removed the heater box (3 screws). Thermistor located on top of the blower housing (right side). removed old thermistor (2 screws) and unplugged the wires. Plugged the wires into new thermistor, installed the thermistor, replaced the heater box, then tested the dryer. It seemed to work fine. Replaced the cover. It has worked fine ever since.

First I reviewed the diagram to become familiar where items were located. I then insured unit was unpluged I used nutdriver to remove front cover from dryer. Noticed a lot of lint. Good time to vacuum it made finding screws and wires easier.Next Located heating element as described in parts location diagram. Utilized small socket to remove screws in cover plate. the socket set allow easy access to screws under cover plate. Removed 2 electrical wires from heating element. Pull heating element from housing with needle nose pliers. Had to tug a little, inspected element and found break in heating coil.Placed in new element by using reverse installation procedure. (didn't replace lint)This was an easy fix and I saved lots of dollars on repair or hundreds on new dryer. I spent about 20 minutes on the entire project. If you can read you can do this project. Very easy to complete. PS Ordering the parts was easy and arrived earlier than exepected.

1) Unplug the dryer. 2) Remove lower front panel, use screw driver to push down then pop the top forward. 3) Heating element is on the right. 1/4 inch nut driver removes front plate and the screws holding the foot in place.4) Remove the two wires connected to the heating element and pull the heater toward yourself 5) Remove the screw next to where the two wires connected to the heater, It takes some effort but it will slide out the heating element. Slide the new element in, put in screw next to terminals, slide heater back into place, put foot screws in, put deflector back on with screw, connect the wires back onto the heating element, put the front cover back on, plug in the dryer and test. It will smell for about a minute being new.

First i did some research on the internet approx.1yr ago.Just in case any problems like this or any other kind of problems should arise which it did.The whole thing is Easy all you have to have is some basic knoledge of how things work.All of this came "OFF" in (4) sections.After installing everything back it was as "Quiet"as the day we purchased it.Good for another 5yrs.Retired welder & "J.O.A.T.Julian San Antonio,Texas

Pretty straight forward, only hard part was getting the housing for the heating element out. After that it was plug and play. Added benefit was cleaning out the inside and dryer vent while I was in there.
