WED7590FW1 Whirlpool Dryer - Instructions

Lint can build up inside the dryer, and can cause a fire in EXTREME cases. If your model has a back panel that exposes the entire chute, this job is much easier. Unscrew the chute from the machine to remove it. Inspect and clean all the lint out, especially the bottom, next to the fan blower. The other version machine has a panel at the top that is welded on. Remove the two screws at the top corner of the rear bulkhead, where the chute is. Gently pull this inner panel away to free the top of the chute from the rear top panel. Then pull the chute down and out. Follow the reverse to complete the job.

Followed your video for replacing the Tension Pulley, Drum Belt and Drum Rollers. Models were not exact, but instructions were very clear and detailed enough for a "computer geek" to do the repair myself (with some help from my wonderful wife). Live in Ohio, parts came from Kentucky and I had them the next day! The dryer is almost 10 years old. Running great now. Thank You!

removed screw securing houseing to dryer chasis, disconected wireing harness- be carefull here there are three lines two for the thermostat and one for the element- you only need to disconect the one nearest the front of the unit, reove the screw holding the element to the houseing it sits in and pull out. instalation is reverse the directions to remove

First I unpluged the dryer from the electical power. I removed the 2 screws holding the bottom front panel. Then I saved a bit of time and effort. Instead of removing the bracket and pulling the whole unit out, I bent the metal plate in front of the heating element toward me. I unpluged the 2 wires from the plastic casing and removed the screw holding the heating element in place. Next I pulled out the old part and pluged in the new one then connected it in reverse order and bent the plate back up to protect the element. This was a very easy and inexpensive way to fix the dryer like new again. The hardest part was vacuuming and cleaning the bottom of the dryer. There was seven years of lint build up under there.

unplugged the dryer and removed collapsable vent then we laid it on its back. took off the lower front face with a screwdriver ( just inserted in upper margin and it popped off) then removed a couple of screws and put the new element in replaced the screws and we cleaned all the old dust and lint from in the cabinet and replaced the front face. no problems.

Removed the screws holding the front cover, Removed the screws holing the heating element bracket, pulled the heating element housing out, unplugged element and removed old element. Very easy to install. The exploded pictures on website really help.

As per directions (videos) I found on PartSelect; 1st removed the bottom panel, then removed the housing (2 screws) covering the fan/lint trap area. Pulled the wires (2) from the heating element and removed three screws, 1 on the side of the housing immediately behind the heating element terminals, and 2 screws holding the stamped steel riser in place. I didn't have to remove the entire heater housing, but rather wiggled the heating element out slowly. For that I used a pair of pliers to grip the element and a gloved hand to hold the housing steady while I pulled one side then the other. I spent some time vacuuming out all the dust while I was in there. Replacing the element was a little easier, it slid in with firm hand pressure. Then just a matter of reversing the steps above. Wife was happy and once again, I am a hero.

Everything worked perfectly---thanks to the suggestion of your call center agent. She suggested that since the replacement door handles were no longer available, I should consider repainting them--it worked like a charm. Please tell her she was a life saver. We rent that house in Fl and my returning tenants had complained about the discoloring refer handles. Thank you

Just before leaving for vacation, we discovered that the dryer was not heating the air at all. Its an electric dryer, so did the basic troubleshooting, put ohm meter on the dryer element and found it was open circuit. Ordered the replacement element and it arrived while were were gone on vacation. My wife and daughter came home early from the beach to get kid ready to go to college. They needed the dryer, so I was able to walk them through replacing the element over the phone.

Amazing that they were able to get this done, but really just says how easy it was.

Removed the front bottom panel. Disconnect the two wires and two screws and then remove the heater element using pliers. Then install the new heater element in the same way.It works good as new now! Thanks to PartSelect.

Suggest you test all suggested parts first with ohm meter to determine cause of failure. Heater element was functioning properly, other parts were required to fix problem.

I actually had a friend's husband do the repair, who is an electrician by trade. He removed the front of the dryer, removed the box that held the element, removed the element, marked the wiring, and then when the part came, he put it back in, and reassembled the dryer.

Took bottom accesses panel off dryer (two screws). To the right was heating element housing. Three screws to remove inside. One at the bottom of houseing bracket (holds up heating element housing) which connects to dryer cabinet floor. One at top of bracket (connects to bottom of heating element housing). One on the left side where the elements wires connect (screw goes through housing then through element side arm). Once the three screws are removed disconnect wires and pull element stright towards you. Once everything was diasembled I took shopvac in side machine and swept it all out. Just reassble the same way you took apart.

Removed toe plate, make sure and use something like a 5 in 1 painters tool, makes the job easier as you will see a notch inside the seam between toe plate and outer shell, take 1 screw from heater tube cover I used a nut driver, this job is best to use with a stubby socket set, there are 2 machine screws with hex heads holding the heating element to the heating tube, you cant really see the heads but can feel them with your fingers, disconnect the 2 terminals in front of this, but make sure you use a blue or black sharpie to mark the terminals, use your stubby and remove screws, then use a set of needle nose pliers and pull out the heating element, the new heating element slide right in the grooves then reverse the take off process, good luck
