LER3622PQ3 Whirlpool Dryer - Instructions

Checked on your website for common problems w/this model dryer,highest probability was the thermal fuse being blown,so I ordered one & checked the vent for being plugged,no problem there,removed the back of the dryer replaced the fuse(very easy to do)put everything back together & started it up...all set now.Thanks for your help

unplugged power, slide unit away from wall, removed bottom front cover, rear sheetmetal cover, tilted front of unit to remove roller outboard support (sheetmetal screw from bottom of dryer). Removed shaft bolt from rear of dryer which released roller assembly. Remove speed nut from old roller assembly to remove outboard support arm, mounted new roller to new shaft placed triangle clips (one each side of roller), mounted outboard support to front of new shaft and completed re-assembly (reverse order of disaasembly).

Attributed excessive noise to age of dryer, upon closer inspection, a dish towel had become caught at rear of drum because the drum support rollers were damaged causing the drum to create a space in the rear of the drum. This was large enough for the dish towel to be caught. Originally I thought that the thermal fuse had blown the circuit-which should occur in an overheating situation-however the loose drum had worn through the electrical wire leading to the door switch because it was not properly seated on the rear drum rollers. the wire was repaired with a wire nut, rear drum rollers were installed and it is working again. thank you for the extremely fast shipping

Attempt to start dryer normally. Turn timer dial to high heat setting. Press the Push To Start button. Verify plug is secure in wall outlet. Got to breaker panel to verify breaker is not tripped. (Sometimes breaker may trip but visually appear no to be tripped). Reset breaker to maker sure breaker is in the on position. Attempt to start dryer normally. If dryer did not start proceed. Get a multimeter. Remove plug from wall outlet. Slide dryer from wall. Remove exhaust duct from bottom of dyer. Use multimeter to check voltage at wall outlet. Verify 120 to ground and 208 between hot legs. Remove rear cover if main dryer unit and rear of control unit. Connect the multimeter to rear of control panel rear of push button. Turn meter to ohm setting. Push the start button to see if there is continuity. Release the button to verify no continuity. Next major part of curcuit is the thermal fuse. Look on lower left area of dryer. With multimeter in Ohm mode place the leads on the light blue wires. If no continuity replace thermal fuse

Dryer works - thanks to a new fuse. Glad I tried this before just buying a new one. Video for my model indicated the fuse was located in the back and actually it was difficult to get to in the front. So extra time was wasted trying to get to fuse in the back. Thank you for the part!

After checking out the website and the videos posted to YouTube, I decided that I should take a chance and try and repair the problem myself. I am not in any way mechanical, and for me personally, this was a huge job. The instructions and the video were so clear that it made the job easy. Taking out the dryer drum was a concern, and although not heavy, I used a friend to hold it in place when I was putting it back together. My only small issue was when I was removing the rollers. I had some difficulty taking off the plastic locking washers but other than that, it was a breeze. The videos posted are great and very easy to follow. While doing the above job, I also replaced the dryer belt and heating element, both of which I followed instructions as per video. The dryer is running very smooth, and is the quietest it has been for many years. Very happy with all aspects of service advice and videos.

After receiving the part I pulled the dryer out for easy access. Used only a nut driver to remove back cover and the part to replace was easily identified. Then it took a little while to remove all the dust and other particles that had built up over the years. The actual replacement of the part only took a couple of minutes. Reattached the back cover and put back in place. Turned on dryer and I now had heat. Easy fix.

I take the screws out of the door, I removed the catch from behind inside the dryer door, I slid the new catch in the door and snapped it in place. After getting a new catch in the door I put the door back together and put the screws in. Easy repair

After watching your vidio ordered part and fixed the problem

removed two screws in dryer vent released the catches on the top removed the two screws holding the switch releases the wire holder unplugged the wire and reversed the same putting back a peace of cake and part select very fast shipment

Replace front legs. Very easy fix.

I had used this site previously to fix my dishwasher. So, I checked the website and it indicated that the likely cause of the problem was the thermal fuse had blown. I ordered the replacement part, and to prepare for its arrival, removed the back of the dryer and put a volt meter on the thermal fuse - there was no continuity, so I knew this was the problem. When the part arrived, the back was already off the dryer, and it took a couple of minutes to install the part, and a lot longer - 10 minutes - to put the back on the dryer. The video(s) was all I needed to identify the problem, and fix it myself - with a savings of around $150.

After visiting your web site, and reading about what components might have failed for this problem, I decided to look first at the Thermal Fuse, which I easily located after watching your video. It was open when I checked in with the multi meter. I ordered the replacement part which I received in 2 days, installed and put the dryer back together in 15 to 30 minutes. It worked like a charm and I figure saved me about $200.00 in repair cost or the higher price of a new dryer. I am a reasonably good do-it-yourselfer and I am so happy to have found this web site, it is great.
