AEE933 Whirlpool Dryer - Instructions

First, I replaced the male end which was just two screws and simple replacement of pushing the fastener into the door frame. When finished I noticed the female end was damaged as well. Glad the female part came as well. This required taken off the front trim around the door (four screws - 2 each side) and then the door. The installing of the female end was easy with a little push. The damaged female end was already hanging out so easy to grab and remove. Otherwise I would have had to remove the front panel. Note You need to put the door trim back on before reattaching the door.

I ordered the belt, which arrived really fast! Took dryer apart, removed old belt, replaced with new belt. The hardest part was remembering how to put the dryer back together! I think next time I will video the taking apart process so I can see how it goes back! This was the 2nd belt in about 18 years, the dryer works fine, and it sure is cheaper than a whole new dryer! Thanks for saving me money again! Really helps in these hard economic times!

I consulted the instructional video before starting to take the dryer apart. My model is older than the one used in the video but it was still very helpful. Putting the belt on was fairly easy; however, I didn't know I also needed a rear drum wheel as well so while the belt is installed, the dryer still doesn't tumble when anything is in it. Off balance without 2nd rear drum wheel.

replaced both fuses removed panel and removed fuses and checked for continuity and replaced with new fuses

Push new catch in the opening, close the door and VOILA! the door stays closed. Please note that the cost of this part is exorbitant- it's worth about 50 cents but with shipping it cost about $11.00. Check your local hardware store first.

Pulled out the broken part than easily snapped the new part into place..

First I take off all front cover and then the dirt strainer next is the dryer drum holder next the top cover I lift up and so you room to set the dum belt

Pulled off front of dryer because it made loud noise, lifted clothing drum removed cover for fan and order from model number on fan and replaced. 30 min with help from my son.

Removed front of dryer, first the lower then the upper front covers. Removed front drum support, front blower housing cover. Removed belt, and then motor with housing and blower wheel attached. Broke wheel and cover off motor, placed motor in vise to remove threaded nut from motor drive shaft (nut was seized). Reinstalled motor and belt. Installed new housing and blower wheel. Reassembled dryer. Note if old blower wheel had come off repair would have taken half the time and been significantly easier to perform.

I would like to say first of all that I was amaized and pleased at how simple the ordering of this part was and while looking at the parts diagram on you website I noticed the door swing was optional and could be easily changed and the dryer came from the factory with a latch installed on both sides of the door. In our laundry room the dryer sits to the left of the washer and the door to the dryer opened to the right which has always been a slight inconvenience. . . So instead of changing out the broken part, I took the door and hinge off with my cordless screwdriver (6-8 screws) and turned it around and remounted it on the opposite side. . . Simple! I never took the new part out of the ups envelope. Now I have a spare so I taped the new part in the envelope to the back of the dryer in case I ever need it and now we have more convenience with the door swinging the correct way. Sweet deal! The repair went better than expected. I watched the video of how to replace the dryer belt and although it wasn't exactly the same, just by watching the video I was able to find my way through the process. I took off the front panel removed the drum and took off the belt. I then installed new belt on drum then motor. Then installed the front panel.
