Its good to clean all the lint out the the dryer and vents on a yearly bases as to many years of lint build up can catch on fire and make a mess . Replacing the glides was easy . Make sure you clean all the old glue , so the pads stay in place as there need to compensate for minor frame to drum differences .

dryer dosen’t spin--broken drive belt
Remove the lint filter.
Access the belt by removing the top of the dryer cabinet. It is held on by clips that allow it to be pried off, no screws to deal with. I used a thin wooden wedge to avoid chipping the enamel.
Remove the wires from the door mounted switch, remove the screws that attach the front of the cabinet, and remove the front.
The dryer drum is unsupported after removing the front of the cabinet. This allows the new belt to be slipped over the drum.
With a broken belt it isn’t obvious how to route the belt through the tensioner, but 30 seconds of trial and error should yield the solution.
Reattach the wires to the door switch.
During reassembly notice the felt support bearing around the door opening and be sure to keep it smooth and flat as you join the front panel to the drum.

Tumbler Would Not Spin / Needed Belt
It was very obvious that it was the belt. You could hear the motor and it would even generate heat. But the tumbler would not turn. Well there was even directions on this site to do what needed to be done. It was simple and easy. Plus it gave me a chance to clean alot of dust that had accumulated behind the dryer. After shipping of the belt, I was just under $19. 00. Thank you for the simplicity of this website.

Broken Dryer Belt
Just as many others have stated, replacing the belt was an easy job. First, unplug the power cord. Remove the 2 screws from the filter housing, pop the two tabs near the corners (I used a fairly large flat-head screw driver) and lift the top. Remove the two fasteners holding the front panel to the side panels. I used a 5/16th socket with a ¼ inch driver. You’ll want to secure the drum as it will fall out when you remove the front panel. I used a bungee cord and hooked it through an opening in the drum and the other end I secured to an overhead pipe. The drum is not heavy so it was no big deal. You will also have to unclip a small wiring harness before lifting the front panel. There are also 2 tabs, one on each side, on the front panel near the bottom. Once I got the front off, I removed the drum so I could vacuum out all the lint. In addition to the belt, I ordered two rollers and a new idler pulley but when I inspected my unit, the rollers and pulley were still in good shape so I now have the parts for when I’ll need them.

I then routed the belt around the drum and placed the drum back in the unit and again secured it with the bungee cord to hold it as I positioned the belt to track the same as the marks left from the old belt. The directions I received with the new belt were easy to understand but it still took me a minute or two to properly route the belt through the idler pulley and onto the motor pulley.

Once I had the belt installed I asked my wife to help hold the drum while I spun it with my hands to make sure the belt tracked correctly and the rear of the drum was sealed. Her help was not necessary but made it a little easier for me. Then I bungeed it back up, installed the front panel, securing the bolts on both sides. Don’t forget to plug the small wiring harness back together as the dryer will not run if you do not. I did another quick test by turning the drum with my hands and all was good. Next, close the top of the unit, securing the tabs you popped open, reinstall the screws in the filter housing and plug in the unit and test. All in all it’s a very easy job. Not sure what a service call would cost but I know it would be a lot more than I spent.

This is my second experience with Parts Select and they will get my business whenever I need parts. I quickly had my shipment tracking number and the parts were delivered quickly. I ordered on a Monday and the package was at my door when I got home from work on Wednesday.

Dryer wouldn't spin
I read the stories on Partselect and opened popped the top, removed the front and observed the broken belt. I ordered the belt and loaded it around the tub, with the ribs facing down and the blue side exposed. Then I got down on the floor and noticed that the pulley was laying on the floor which got me a bit nervous.

The thing I struggled with for a few minutes was how to secure the pulley, which fit into a slot on the floor of the dryer. I needed to nose the front edge into the front opening and then snap the back into place. From there, the belt is fed underneath the pulley and snapped around the motor.

Dryer wouldn't tumble.
First I removed the control lid which was held down by two screws. Then i removed thw two screws holding down lint trap. I lifted the top lid then had to remove the top two inner screws that hold the front panel up. Removed the front panel looked underneath the drum and i could see the pulley system. You were able to see the mark on the drum from the old belt so that gave you a good indication of the positioning of the new belt. Then replaced all the screws and done a fairly easy job and you save yourself alot of money with the repairman.

Dryer tub would not rotate
Originally, my wife was going to call a repair man to come replace the belt. I could not find the manual online since the dryer is at least 15 years, if not older. When I cut the belt and measured it, I did a search on Google and the Part Select website came up. I navigated to the belt and purchased it. Surprisingly, the belt was delivered much quicker than promised, so I was pleased with that.

I did another search on how to replace the belt, and foud the following directions:

1. Remove the two screws holding the lint screen (my dryer has the lint screen on top, skip this step if the lint screen is in the door).

2. Use a putty knife to pop the plastic pins that hold the lid to the frame.

3. Use a socket or screwdriver to remove the two screws at the top corners of the front panel.

4. Lift the front panel to release the brackets that hold it in at the base.

5. Remove the front panel, put a brick or block of wood to support the drum.

6. Put the belt on, trying to get it in the grooves.

7. The idler pulley popped off when the original belt broke. The base of the pulley fits into some slots next to the motor. Loop the belt under the pulley and put the loop into the drive pulley on the motor. The idler pulley will then spring up and hold itself in place.

8. Make sure the front and rear gaskets (cloth, felt and plastic) are in place.

9. Repeat the above steps for putting everything back together, don't forget to remove the brick or wood block first!

Very easy project. Thank you Part Select for shipping the part so quickly - ordered on a Thursday, received on Saturday, even though I paid for the standard shipping!

Dryer Tub stopped rotating
I used the online examples at your site, the repair was quick. The down and dirty

1. remove screws from lint filter
2. remove 2 top left / right screws from the back
3. pop open front top edge of dryer. remove the top
4. remove inside top front left / right screws
5. disconnect wireing from front door. I had to use a very small screw driver to get the wiring clip to seperate. Both sides of the electrical plactic connector have a clip notch.
6. lift front dryer door up from bottom clips. flip dryer on it's back as it works best if dryer is laid on it's back for better access.
7. place new belt around dryer tub rubber groved side towards the dryer tumbler.
8. feed the belt through the tension pully and around the electric drive motor.
9. make sure tension pully is secured / clipped back to the dryer floor. It helps to slowly rotate the dryer tumbler/ tub to reposition the belt.
10 carefully move dryer back to upright position. helps to have a second pair of hands as you will need to hold the tunbler / tub while you reposition the front door on the lower clips.
11. pug in electrical wireing, replace front, back and lent filter screws.

Additional Info: You might want to remove the dryer hose from the back of the dryer as it will make it easier when you lay the dryer on it's back.

My wife and I completed the repair in 30 to 60 minutes.

Broken Drum belt
1.removed the top of the dryer.
2. removed the wiring to the door switch.
3. removed the front of the dryer.
4. removed the broken belt .
5. removed the drum .
6. cleaned the inside of the housing so that it was free of dust, and dirt.
7. replaced the drum, making certain that the seals were rinding where they are suppose to.
8. placed new belt on drum, placed the belt through the tension pulley, and on to the motor.
9. I replaced the front of the machine, making sure that the front seal around the opening was in its proper place, and replace the screws with the use of a nutdriver.
10. I reconnected the wires to the door switch.
11. I rotated the drum by hand to make sure it runs freely and seals were operating properly.
12. Then I replaced the top of the dryer.
The job took about an hour to do, and was fairly easy from a diy person. The hardest part was looking for a place to buy the parts for replacement for such and old machine. I want to thank you for being out there.

Dryer barrel stopped turning
I disconnected the electricty. I openned the top of the dryer. I unscrewed the front and took it off. I removed the old broken belt. I slipped the new belt on. I threaded it thru the idler and over the motor pully, I put the front back on. I reseated the rear seal of the barrel. I closed the top, reconnected the vent hose, and plugged it in. Turned it on, and it worked.
