MDB9206AWW Maytag Dryer - Instructions

Accessed the front of the dryer cab by removing 4 screws (2 cover, 2 hinge) which also allowed the door to be removed. The front panel pivots at the bottom, towards the front. Changed the igniter first (loosen 1 screw, slide old unit out, slide new unit in, retighten screw, transfer electrical connector) though the unit looked OK, then changed the gas valve solenoid coil packs (disconnect electrical plugs, remove coil bracket (2 screws), swap new coils for old, and reassemble). Vacuumed up loose dirt and reinstalled front panel and door. Also removed, cleaned, shortened, and reinstalled the dryer flex duct as a maintenance item. Dryer works perfectly again!

unplug dryer; remove dryer door; remove front cover; thermal fuse located on heater underneath and beside drum; remove two electrical leads on fuse; remove two screws holding fuse in place; install new fuse and do the above in reverse; clean lint from duct; plug dryer into

Found the high temp thermostat was shutting off the gas after just a few seconds. Tested the thermostat and it looked like it was opening at 180 degrees as opposed to the rated 240 degrees, so I ordered one from PartSelect, which shipped the next business day. Replaced the thermostat and no luck, still shutting down after a few seconds. Turns out the duct going outside the house was blocked with years of lint stopping the air flow. Cleaned out the duct and the dryer is working fine again. Wife is happy she won't have to go to the laundromat.

Take old out, slide new one in. Perfect fit.

Unplugged dryer and removed screws that hold door in place. removed screws that hold front panel. removed front panel. took drum belt off idler pulley. pulled drum out of dryer cabinet. unhooked wiring harness and removed motor. replaced motor and reversed steps to put back together. Thanks to partselect for getting me the parts so quickly. I ordered the motor on line on Friday and it was at my house on Saturday.

I looked on line and found a scematic from your web site to determine how to dismantel the dryer. Once I was inside I was able to determine that the drum roller was making the noise. I decided to replace the other moving part while I was inside just in case. . . Pretty easy job

I took out the old worn out part and replaced with the one I order.

discovered it was a broken latch. Ordered the latch, only took 2 days to arrive and all I had to do was remove the broken latch and snap in the new one. I saved myself a service call. I'm very happy!!!!!!

I had to call and reorder because I ordered the wrong part and the gal on the phone cancelled the first order and the right part came the next day!Amazing service!!!

Removed power and front panel, removed broken latch, pushed in new latch and replaced the front panel and power. Done

After watching the great install video, I followed his lead and within 20 min had my dryer door fixed. This dryer was bought in 1986 and I really thought I was looking at buying a new dryer. How wonderful that I could fix it for less than $11. Easy to find web site, easy to find part, great instructions and fast delivery!

AS it turned out the problem was not the igniter but the timer of which we figured out how to force it to work but now we will be ordering the part from your great company.

took out the old lint filter and put in the new one.

It fit perfectly! the part arrived quickly.

I was very satified with my experience!

I removed the dryer door and attaching hardware to other covers. Raise the top cover and prop it up. Remove the drum retaining cover and disconnect the door switch wires, making note of their locations. Release tension on idler and take belt off of motor. Pull the drum out with belt still around it. Vacuum lint and dust from inside cabinet. Use snapring pliers and remove the snaprings on the drum rollers. Remove the old rollers and washers, clean the shafts and apply a light film of oil on the shafts. Install new rollers and plastic washers on shafts and secure with snaprings. Remove the "E" clip from the idler shaft and remove the old roller. Clean and lube the shaft and install the new idler and clip. Place the new belt on the drum with the ribs against the drum. Put the drum in place and install the front drum retainer. Position the belt around the motor pully and tensioner. Rotate the drum to get the belt to track. Attach the remaining covers.

Replaced igniter, then the two coils on the gas valve. I'm not sure which actually fixed the problem as I was not testing the repair correctly. I needed to attempt to dry an actual load of wet clothes.
