MDE3050AGW Maytag Dryer - Instructions

Removed broken knob and replaced new timer knob it fit perfect, no problems.

Take old out, slide new one in. Perfect fit.

Pull off the nob/ timer dial skirt . Pop off the cap. Used pliers to pinch the catches together to release the knob from the timer dial skirt.
Ordered new skirt from Part Select after confirming part from great diagrams and pictures.
Received the timer dial skirt in a few days. Snap pieces back together and replace knob onto dryer.
Super Easy.

I looked on line and found a scematic from your web site to determine how to dismantel the dryer. Once I was inside I was able to determine that the drum roller was making the noise. I decided to replace the other moving part while I was inside just in case. . . Pretty easy job

Unplug the dryer and pull it away from the wall so front and back can be accessed. Remove front panel. Remove front drum support. Remove rear access panel. Disengage drive belt from idler wheel. Make careful note of course of belt and which side is "outward". Remove drum through front. Remove Rollers using circlip pliers. Remove nuts behind shafts. Remove shafts. Clean-up area and parts before re-install.

Install new Shafts and nuts. Grease shafts. Install new Rollers, washers and clips. Drape drive belt over drum while reinstalling from front. Remount drive belt over drive and idler pullies from the rear access. During this step it helps to have a helper to position the belt around the drum in correct fore/aft position, lying flat and without twists, smooth side against drum. Install front drom support. Rotate drum to seat belt before closing up. Install rear panel cover. Install Front panel. Plug it in and turn it on for a test.

We discovered that the dial "skirt" had cracked so the "pointer" didn't line up. Got the new skirt, pulled the old one off, had to get pliers to pull one small broken part off. Slipped the new skirt on and the dryer works like new. All for less than $5.00. Christmas was saved!

All you have to do is remove the skirt on the bottom of the turning dial, then put on the new one. Then slip it on the machine. Bobs your uncle!!! You have a working knob for your Maytag Dryer.

Removed power and front panel, removed broken latch, pushed in new latch and replaced the front panel and power. Done

After watching the great install video, I followed his lead and within 20 min had my dryer door fixed. This dryer was bought in 1986 and I really thought I was looking at buying a new dryer. How wonderful that I could fix it for less than $11. Easy to find web site, easy to find part, great instructions and fast delivery!

Remove the door and the plastic brackets on the other side of the door opening. Remove the front cover by gentally pulling from the top first. Support the dryer basket (I used an old towel and a block of wood. With a 1/2 inch wrench remove the Roller Shaft with the Drum Support still attached. Replace new shaft and drum support. (always replace both at the same time or you will find that the problem will come back much sooner.) Careful when installing. Make sure that the new non metalic washers (suppied) are propery seated when you are tightening down the nut.

I had to call and reorder because I ordered the wrong part and the gal on the phone cancelled the first order and the right part came the next day!Amazing service!!!

discovered it was a broken latch. Ordered the latch, only took 2 days to arrive and all I had to do was remove the broken latch and snap in the new one. I saved myself a service call. I'm very happy!!!!!!
