door catch would not latch
Well tried to find this simple part around Columbus and even maytag website no luck.Parts select had it to go and arrived earlier than expected.Fixed it less than 5 minutes works great.taken longer to put the light bulb back in,Really like the accuracy and quick response from parts select. If I had called a service tech probably would have cost $50.00 or more for a part that cost a little over $3.00 and saved this site in case I need to order other parts.Thank you

Original lint filter frame was broken in two places and fabric was torn
We pulled out the old lint filter, cleaned out all the lint that had gotten down inside the dryer due to the broken filter. We then replaced it with the new filter. It is now drying much better and the lint is not getting down inside the machine any longer.

My dryer died mid-load with a slight burning smell.
I googled burning smell dead dryer and read that most often the problem was either due to a clogged lint vent. After checking the power source and the lint vent with no results, was suggested that the thermal fuse needed to be replaced. When replacing the fuse, it is also recommended to replace the thermostat, both come in the high limit kit. After receiving my kit and googling dryer schematics I was able to figure out how to replace the fuse and high limit thermostat. When I first tested it I could still smell a little burning, but it dissipated and works well yet again! I had to replace the drum belt last year, and both times I've done my own repairs it has cost me less than $25 for the parts. Being a female on a budget, I was extremely pleased and proud to have figured out how to do the repairs on my own. I appreciated being able to order the parts as well as the speedy shipping!

Dryer wouldn't turn on.
First I removed power cable from outlet, then I lifted the top panel and rotate to the backward. High Limit kit took about 10 mins to install. I took a few more minutes to vacuum out all the lint. Dryer is working well.

My 11 year old daughter broke the door clasp
My 11 year old daughter broke the door clasp to the dryer by repeatedly slamming it trying to get it to close. I told her to go down stairs write down the make model and serial number and come back up and find a place to buy it online. I left with instructions not to use the computer for anything else until the part was found. Less then 15 minutes later I came back because I heard giggling. She was chatting but had found an exploded view of the door and the part. She was very pleased with herself! We bought it and it arrived a few days later. I saw the empty box. She had opened it and taken it down and installed it herself. A good lesson, for her and me

Drum would rotate NO HEAT
Had to lift the top with a screw driver. Unplugged dryer. Removed 4 different wires from heating element. Unscrewed with socket wrench screws that are small becareful not to drop. Replaced with new heating element and there you go. I had to reset at my fuse box as well. I was overjoyed that I didn't have to go buy a new dryer so close to the Holidays!! Hopefully it will work for another 10 years. Thanks!!

Gas dryer not drying clothes in one cycle
Unplugged the dryer. Released the two forward sping clips holding the top in place and hinged it open. Removed the two 1/4" screws(one on each upper edge of front panel). Disconnected the door switch. Pulled out and up to remove the front panel. Located the cycling thermostat on the blower housing. Disconnected the thermostat wires, removed the (2) 1/4" screws. Installed the new thermostat and assembled in reverse order.

The dryer worked fine for the first load then would not work again until it cooled off.
Problem fixed with high limit kit. Easy to do other than a little difficult to reach to align parts but not too bad.

Dryer would not heat
Tilt dryer top. Inspect damaged part(s). In my case it was the high-limit thermostat; but since the dryer is old, I ordered the heating element kit. The thermostat is included. Disconnect wires from thermostat and remove. Disconnect wires from element and remove. Carefully install new element and reconnect wires. Same for thermostat. Dryer works fine. Also, delivery time was one day. Thank you Partselect.

dryer just quit working, after reading some of your repair tips I diagnosed the problem.
I started by unplugging the power source. I took the putty knife to push the two clips on front under the top edge of machine to raise the top. located & removed two screws (one on each side) to remove the front. I removed the door switch so I could then remove front to facilitate a good cleaning inside the lint trap & dryer itself. I then located & removed high limit thermostat. On my dryer model the thermal fuse is located below the heating coils so I removed them & the front bracket they are attached to so I could get to fuse. I removed & replaced fuse & reassembled parts & pieces. Plugged in dryer & success as it seems to run as good as new. Thanks for your quick response in shipment & especially your listing of repair tips. John B.

Dryer dead, no heat no light no spinning
Web site advised checking thermal fuse, opened dryer top and fuse was bad. Thermal fuse kit had exact parts needed. replaced thermal fuse and high limit thermostat using new ones in kit. couple of screws, a little contortion. worked perfectly. took ~45 minutes to diagnose, 15 minutes to replace parts.***important**** dryer vent was clogged with lint which is apparently usual reason for this problem, so CLEAN OUT VENT HOSE!!!!
