I ordered the maintenance kit because it was recomended for my application and the symptoms my dryer was exhibiting. However this kit did not apply to my model. My model contained 4 drum rollers, only 2 came with the kit, and the idler pulley setup was completely different. I should have pulled the dryer apart first to compare pictures to the actual parts. No big deal, prompt refund after a quick phone call to Parts select. I was able to fix my idler pulley with a couple of new nylon washers and a new snap ring to hold it in place. I needed to replace our drum support rollers - one was completely worn out and wobbling (the buffalo herd noise) the other wasn't too bad, but for an older dryer(15+ years) I figured it was time to replace both wheels. I ordered the maintenance kit that also included the Idler Pulley and drum belt. I spent most of my time with the vacuum since there was a lot of dust accumulated inside the dryer. (I recoverd $1.83 in coins!) The instructions that came with the kit were very helpful for this repair. Plus, there were some online videos that heled as well. Once I had everything apart I noticed the plastic bearing ring on the drum's front was nearly worn out so I quickly ordered this from PartSelect and it arrived quicly in two days - this took only 10 minutes to replace.

Broken belt, but went with the mainentance kit since it was going to be all apart anyway. Found the job easy to do and the new belt idler was a big improvement over the old style. /also came with instructions. Good for another 5-10 years.

Using a stiff putty knife I depressed the clips that hold the top down. I loosened the screws at the lower edge of the front panel and removed the two 5/16 head screws that hold the front on. I unplugged the door switch and lifted the front off the lower screws. I removed the drum and the broken belt. I replaced the rear rollers after applying some dry lube to the shafts and replaced the tension spring and rolled. I replaced the drum and belt and attached the belt to the small pulley on the motor. Then checked the rear gasket felt and reinstalled the front cover and the top.

Kit was easy to install and after making sure the drum gaskets were set right the noises ended.

Poped the top; removed the front of dryer; removed the drum; replaced the rollers and clips, new belt, and new idler pulley. Cleaned out all the lint. Reinstalled all. It works perfect. Ordering the parts was easy and the assistance you give in diagnosing the problem was excellent.

Opened up the dryer and found that the belt broke. Came to this web-sight and was quickly directed to the correct part once viewing the schematics, and then watched the video. After removing the bottom front panel using a putty knife to pry the upper left and right edges of the panel, I noticed that the long thin drum belt had broken. I went online to PartSelect, and using the Whirlpool model number, found the parts diagrams. Since the dryer is 20 years old, I decided to order the maintenance kit part# PS373087 which includes new idler wheels, retainer clips, and a tension pulley as well as the belt . I found a number of webpages that offer guidance in replacing the belt. Along with the instructions that came with the maintenance kit, I was able to do the repairs and have the dryer up and running in 30 minutes. Remember to remove the door springs before taking off the upper front panel. You only need to loosen the bottom screws on this panel. Leaving them in place helps to align and hold the panel when re-installing it.

After running the unit for a minute or so I removed the back of the dryer. Unable to locate the problem from this vantage point, I then removed the bottom kick plate. Using a small flash light, and turning the drum by hand I discovered that one of the support rollers had burned out the bearings. I went to this web site to see if I could still get parts for the unit. I found not only the part, but a full repair kit. Knowing all the parts would need to be replaced at some point, and that Mom could not afford a new unit I replaced everything. The parts did truly arrive in one day when they arrived I went back to your web site. I had seen instructional videos while looking for the repair parts. After watching the video I removed the dryer drum, removed the parts to be replaced (2 drum support rollers the belt tension roller, and belt) I replaced old with new cleaned entire unit reassembled and it is working like a champ thank you very much for all the parts, and info

Remove the lint filter. Remove top without disturbing control wiring -- turn top on end but make sure it cannot fall. Unhook contacts on door switch. Remove screws hloding front panel and kick plate. Remove door hinge springs. Remove front panel and kick plate.Fish out old broken belt. Remove drum. Vacuum out all the lint. Reposition/replace pulley assembly and wheels. Place new belt around drum. Reinstall drum being careful to properly position the seal at rear. Prop up the drum with a suitable sized article to keep it in position temporarily - or have someone else hold it in position. Thread drive belt through pulley assembly per directions and put over drive hub. Manually turn drum to ensure proper belt and seal positioning. Put front panel back on. Turn drum while inspecting seal -- use putty knife to slip under seal if necessary to ensure its not folded under drum lip. Remove the prop holding up drum. Reinstall door hinges springs.Reinstall kick plate. Reinstall top.

Replaced belt,wheels,idler arm and drive motor.Used video instructions from PartSelect.Instructions are spot on.All replacement parts were correct ans fit like a clove.Orderinig was esaey.Staff was friendly and knowleable.Parts arrived quikly with out using next day service.I will use PartSelect in the future and recomend the company to my coworkers and friens.

I purchased the maintenance kit and followed the video on part select.com. Replacing the drum wheels, pully and belt was not difficult. I probably found enough coins in the dryer to pay for the maintenance kit. The only tricky part was getting the cap on the end of the axle. It requires a bit of force applied evenly.

Ordered a parts kit with belt, tensioner, rollers, & clips, but did not use. Unfortunately, the kit was not correct for this model, regardless of the sales reps assurances. The kit had two rollers, our unit has four. The belt tensioner was not even close to being the same. However, a thorough cleaning of the interior with vacuum and rag was done. Removed, cleaned, and lubed each of the four rollers and the tensioner wheel as well. Lubed with small amounts of sewing machine oil on the axles and light spray of silicone on plastic to plastic contact points. Voila! It's as quiet as new.

Took the back off of the dryer and diagnosed the problem. When I saw that the belt was broken I got online and looked for a place to find a replacement. Found Partselect.com and checked out their site and not only did I find the right parts but I also found a video detailing the repair. I purchased a maintenance kit (the belt, the wheels, and the hardware) and the next day my parts arrived and I was able to get the dryer back together in no time at all.

I assumed the drum belt has broken so without looking and tearing into the dryer first. I looked at the model number on parts select and the belt was $43.00. However the maintenance kit wihich included the belt, 2 wheel guides and belt tensioner was only $25.00. go figure. Ordered it and within 3 days it was at my front door. After opening the dryer I noticed the belt was intact. After removing the drum I notice heavy resistance on the motor. Thinking motor bearings were out! The internal motor heaters would drop out and than reset. Opened the fan shroud and found that a sock had fallin into the top lint screen opening and locked up the fan wheel with out the persons knowledge when the screen was than pushed back into place. Alot of work to find out something so simple. hilarious actually. What a relief that it was not the motor and since I had it apart I went ahead and put in the entire maintenance kit anyway. The whole ordeal toless than 1 hr.
