Dryer wasn't heating and ran continuously
I ordered the thermostat switch thinking I'd isolated the problem. Discovering that wasn't the problem, I disconnected and inspected the heater coils and found the break in the coil. I then ordered the heater element (also from Partselect.com). It was simple, fast and works like a champ. I did discover my outside vent had a bird's nest in it. You really need to occasionally check your dryer vent (inside and out), for lint and apparently bird's nests.

Dryer would stat but no heat
The part came in very quickly. If you know how to remove the front panel, it is very easy to repair. The hard part is to diagnose the problem. The first thing to check is the igniter. If it comes on then you look for faulty limit switches. If you have lots of training in electronics and appliance repair this is very easy, if you do not I would not try this. I have 40 years in the repair business, It still took me 1hr. to find the problem. the switch was intermitted, one time the dryer would work the next time it would not. Good luck and happy repairs.

Dryer just wasn't hot enough
Maytag makes it really easy to replace this part. Unlike the video which has the access panel in the rear of the dryer, Maytag accesses all the thermostats and wiring front the front so you don't even have to pull the unit away from the wall. Smart!! The video was great to show you what the part looks like and how its installed. Installed the part in less than 10 minutes. Now our clothes are drying as they should in half the time...best $20 I spent in a while.

No heat or lost the heating cycle
Initially bought a few parts based on past experience without testing first....my mistake. After testing and purchasing the correct parts the dryer works fine. This is by far the best DIY web site I've ever used and recommend it highly. If you can follow online instructions, this is the way to go....it saves $$$ on service calls.

Dryer stopped heating up.
I followed exactly the video. It really was that simple. My 5 year old even helped me unscrew the nuts. The Thermostat was on the lint shaft and unscrewed easily. Once out I removed the wires. The hardest part was removing the wires, They were really tight. I replaced the wires and screwed in the part. Before I replaced the back I cleaned out the lint tube and turned on the dryer. I saw the flame and the heater kicked right on. I replaced the back and was done. *****However the next time the dryer went the heat didn't remain on and turned off too soon. I did some more research and found you usually need to replace the thermal fuse at the same time on Whirlpool units. So I have ordered the part and will let you know if kept the heater from turning off too soon.

Unscrew one screw holding on thermostat, detach 4 wires, and replace with new unit, attaching 4 wires to new unit. Then reverse process to button up the dryer. Great how-to video on your site helped a lot!

would not start/then took 2 cycles to dry clothes completly
Man o man...please listen up. Would not start..replaced the thermal fuse was the first step I took according to web sight...started right up... Then it took 2 cycles to dry clothes..I went down the recommendations from the highest. % to the lowest %..replaced. over 80$ in parts..cleaned out all vents..from lint ext...still would not work..then come to find out my kids jammed a small toy in the exhaust flap on the outside of the house..the flap stayed closed when the dryer was running..there was no place for hot air to go but back in the dryer..and it seemed to run fine..but the sensors were cutting off the heat early...lesson learned..do not buy any parts until u clean all lint parts..vents..and make sure there are no obstructions with air flow..other wise this is the best place to buy parts..period..

Dryer would not heat
I got on line and searched for parts. I called Parts Select and a gentleman discussed the problem with me. He suggested what part(s) I possibly needed. He sent me the parts we discussed, (he said I would receive them withing 5 business days) I received them in 2. I watched the video which explained procedures for repair, I disassembled the dryer installed the thermostat, reassembled and with in 1/2 hour we were drying clothes. If I ever have any other problems I would call again for info. A great experience keep the good work

timer woyld not advance and temp went cool after 15 min
Removed rear panel and replaced sensor. Sad thing is this was not the problem. It was the coil valves! They are a $20 part together, and I wish I would have replaced them first! There is two of them that are on the main valve for the gas! Remove the front cover of machine. Make sure the gas is off , remove the bracket holding the valves in and this it! Quick simply repair that is where I should have started!

Dryer would not heat, timer would not advance.
First, I would like to say how pleased I am with how quickly the part arrived. The repair was very straightforward. I used the video on the PartSelect site to guide me. Removed wires one at a time so that I could immediately put them on the corresponding place on the new part. Took less than 10 minutes.
