Dryer squealing/squeeking when operating
First I consulted the video on this website to see how to do the job. Really nothing too complicated. Believe it or not, the toughest part of the job was dealing with the confined space and the heat of the boiler room. We have our hot water heater in there also, so it's always hot in there. The actual repair is easy. Remove the top and front. Four screws total. Take the front and swing it to the side. The one thing I did which made it a lot easier to remove the drum was to take the lower sheet metal screws out of the lower support to sides. This enables you to swing the sides out of the way to take the drum out with ease. It also makes it easier to put the belt back on the pulley and motor. Something not mentioned in the video. The rest was straight forward. Be careful when replacing the front. I inadvertently knocked off one of the wires for the door switch and had to take it apart again. Double check those slide on connectors before reassembly. Dryer works like a charm and is as quiet as a mouse (a dead mouse!) Thanks for your parts and video help.

Dryer would not turn on
It took a while to diagnose the problem. I finally figured out it was the door switch by pushing it with my finger with the dryer door open and starting the dryer. It would run like that, but the switch was not being pressed in enough by the door. I ordered the switch and I should have been able to replace in about 15 min. But the old switch broke while I was removing it and it fell back inside the unit. So I had to remove the top and the front panel to access the door switch. That's why it took so long. If that had not happened it would have been a much simpler repair.

Rusty door
Removing the old door was the problem as the old screws were rusty. Then, because we are not very spatially adept, we had trouble putting the door back together with correct hinge alignment. This should have taken about an hour and the part was perfect. The dryer, which we were going to throw away, looks and works perfectly! Parts Select offers great, timely service.

Broken handle on dryer
The part was shipped quickly and I received it within the week. I was afraid that because it is an older dryer the new handle would not be compatible, but it was! It installed easily, it only took a few seconds to clip it in and now it's as good as new!

Plastic shaft on timer stripped and timer knob broken
I followed the instructions provided from the first installation listed, removed the back, removed the wires one at a time and reconnected them as I went was the absolute best advise since they don't come labelled. Put the cover back on and attached the knob. And I am female, so ladies it can be done!
