loud screaching noise
We removed the top of the the dryer and then removed the front part. Then put the traps in place, put the other parts of the dryer back on, and turned the dryer back on. Just as simple as that. No extra fees.

The dial on the timer slipped around!
I thought that the timer was broken but when I pulled the knob off, there was a slight crack in it so before I contemplated calling a service person, I ordered a new knob. Now it works just fine and turns with the usual 'clicks' that I wasn't hearing since it broke. For the $20 ( including S&H ) It was worth the try. Thanks for the website, very easy to use!

Knob Broken
The knob had broken off a few months ago. I didn't think to look for one on the internet. I finally googled the brand name and part number and your company came up. It had the picture of the part which I ordered immediately. It came in the mail really quickly. I was so excited when I received the knob. I took it out of the package and slipped it over the stem in less than a minute. It went on perfectly. Now I no longer need to use pliers to turn on the dryer. It looks great and I am no longer inconvenienced. I love the new knob and would do business with this company again.

Dryer would not shut off. If dryer door was opened while running and then door closed, dryer would restart without turning start knob.
Pulled the dryer out away from wall. UNPLUG dryer. Using Phillips screwdriver remove the 5 screws holding the metal plate behind the back splash. Remove the 2 screws holding the smaller metal plate at bottom center of the larger . From the front pull the start knob straight out remove. Grasp switch and turn clockwise and pull out switch. Hold new switch and pull wire/ terminal one at a time and install on new switch. Repeat until all wires are installed on new switch. Rotate switch to approximately two o'clock position and while pushing turn switch counter clockwise to lock switch into position. Reinstall all plates that were removed. Plug back in and reinstall knob noting "d" shaped inside dial to line up with shaft.

dryer would not turn on
I opened the control panel from the back. I held the new switch next to the old switch and changed one wire at a time so that I would be sure they were connected in the same manner. It was simple. I have American Home Shield and I usually call them for repairs. Sometimes they are slow and after 3 days the contractor that they usually call didn't have a work order from them. I was tired of waiting so I ordered the part myself. I got overnight shipping and repaired it myself for about half what the American Home Shield minimum charge would have been. The day I got the dryer working again, the contractor called to scheduyle a time to come to my house. I told him the repair was done and I didn't need him. It made me feel good to take care of it myself and save money too.

Would Not Turn On
We ordered the part and I remember coming to this website and reading the reviews. So when my husband came home we pulled out the dryer and we unscrewed the back of the top plate. We then took the needle nose pliers totake the wire off which there are three of them just remember when changing the switch where the red wire goes instead of going uotop it goes on the bottom. After that we were done and I would say that it took about 15 minutes. When doing this make sure unplug the dryer before you do anything.

malfunction in the start switch, dryer would not restart when the knob was turned
removed the top back panel ,(6 phillips head screws,)remove knob, (pulls off)the switch requires about a quarter turn to remove. Remove wires from old switch. They just unplug. Plug onto new switch, reinstall switch and good to go.Reinstall knob. Really easy. The hard part for me was leaning over the dryer from the front because I did not want to pull away from wall too far and have to worry about reinstalling dryer vent duct. I had to work in tight area.If I could have gotten behind the dryer, the whole operation would have taken about 10 minutes.Very easy to change.

Dryer makes noise when "Start" is pushed, but stops when you let go.
Dryer would turn on when you pushed the "on" button, but as soon as you let go, it would turn off. Found the plastic door switch cracked (from slamming door closed). Unplugged the dryer. Unscrewed the two screws inside the top of the door to unfasten the top panel. Took the top panel off. Then unscrewed the two screws on the side to unlatch the front panel. Used plyers to take the 3 wires off the switch and slid the switch through the front of the door. Juat remember where the wires go. Then inserted new switch and connected the wires. Vacuumed out the dryer and reassembled. It took about 20 minutes and was easy! If I can do it, you can!!!

Start switch a cinch!
I arrive home to the dreaded news, "The dryer is broken, I simply turned it on and smelled smoke!"
I replied "What unbreakable item did you break today?"
She showed me the dryer, we did a sniff test, removed the front control panel and determined it was probably the start switch. We took a shot, went online and ordered the part required from the best source of information that we could find, partselect.com.
The part arrived within two days and we installed it within minutes of its' arrival and it only took about 10 minutes. Plugged it in and we are back in business. This beats even the Maytag repair man!

After finishing a load of clothes, it wouldn't restart
I replaced the start switch but that didn't correct the problem -- which turned out to be that one of the wires on the door switch had fallen off!
