SHU70010 Whirlpool Dishwasher - Instructions

A VERY easy repair! I simply pried off the old wheel assemblies with a screw driver and popped on the new ones. I was a little concerned about the new ones fitting correctly as the dishwasher is over 25 years old, but after a week they still work fine. An easy fix to an annoying problem....wish I had ordered these ages ago! Bottom rack of my dishwasher now rolls in and out like new (instead of the the few remaining wheels constantly falling off!) Very happy I ordered these and delivery was quick.

I ordered the parts on Fri. and they came on Sat. Thanks. I had to pull the dishwasher forward about 6". Then just put the springs on. They don't have much tension with the door closed. Easy. Thanks again.

Replacing the cup latch and dispenser cover was pretty easy. First, I removed the inside cover of the door of the dishwasher. Then I carefully removed the plastic covers/slides on the door, removed the broken cup latch and then inserted the new one. Replaced the plastic covers/slides, the reinstalled the inside cover on the dishwasher. Next, I removed the dispenser cover and installed the new one. It snaps off/on, by the way. It only looks like it slides on/off.

I simply looked at the remaining spring to see which notch it needed to be attached to. I went in very well using a long needle nose plier. Works great.

Unsnapped the old rollers and snapped in the new ones. Worked great and easy. I was very pleased that the parts came so soon as well. Thank You, Ms. Cason

Had to clip the part onto the upper rack. It was a little tight at first, then all of a sudden it just snapped in. Voila, as good as new.

Tried using my hands to bend back the locking plastic connectors enough to get them onto the metal upper storage rack;was afraid of breaking the connectors so I used my utility tool needle nose pliers to give me leverage. This time I was successful. Believe me,it was frustrating for what seemed a long time. No,for me it was not easy.

Turn off the breaker to the dishwasher - there will be water very near the motor and other electrical components. I first scooped and towelled all the water out of the bottom of the dishwasher. The drain valve can be accessed from the bottom front of the dishwasher without pulling the unit out from under the counter. There were 4 screws to remove the 2 bottom metal panels. Next use pliers to loosen and slide back the hose clamp connected to the drain. Have a towel ready and pull the drain hose off the white check valve. The check valve can then be removed by unscrewing it - you may need to use pliers. Put the new one on and everything back together.

Put on new door, making sure the spring was set to flip the detergent door open in order for the detergent to properly do the dishes

took off the old wheels and put on the new.couldn't be easier.

Old tandem rack for rollers popped off lower rack by applying a small amount of pressure. New tandem rack rollers look slightly different, but pop right in place. By replacing all four tandem rack rollers the lower rack glides smoothly in and out of the dishwasher. Entire replacement can be done without tools, by hand in less than fifteen minutes.

Received new rollers promptly as ordered. Removed the old ones by snapping them off and simply snapped the new ones on. Took less than 5 minutes and job was a complete success. Wife happy and I am safe for now

I removed the rack and then pushed down on the old rollers to remove them from the rack. I then installed the new rollers in the same location.

My soap dispenser latch was coated in grit, the gasket was deteriorated, and the spring was barely strong enough to open the door, so the door didn't always latch closed or open when it should. I followed the video and everything went exactly as shown. Once the liner was removed, I discovered the back (including the latch mechanism) was covered in soap residue and other gunk. I hosed it off on the backyard and resumed the repair. The dispenser now latches easily and opens with a convincing SNAP. I wouldn't have known how to replace the latch without the video. I ordered door cover kit #4387043. It comes with new door cover (lid), new pin, spring, latch and snap. Two problems I encountered was 1)with the spring - there is a trick to replacing it. I had to look up how to put the spring on properly. Go to YouTube and Partselect "Dishwasher Repair - Replacing the Lid Spring (Whirlpool Part # 8066018) " will show you the trick. Was a cinch after I knew the trick. 2) you must take door apart to replace snap that goes with the latch, so you might want to replace the detergent door first and see if that solves your problem without changing the latch. It is workable, but I had to go on line and look for diagram to put back together. Just frustrating but for less than $20.00 solved the problem. Good luck.
