Dishes not clean, soap film on dishes
Impeller bolts to plastic chopper mount which is screwed to the top of the motor. Threads on chopper mount were stripped causing impeller to not spin fast enough (replacement mount, which is part of the chopper kit, is metal). Installtion was not difficult.
You have to reach underneath the washer and wedge a screwdriver on top of the motor to hold the shaft from moving.

dishes not clean
with dishwasher running I would open the door and notice the lower spray arm was not turning. I removed all parts in the tub and clean off all the accumulated gunk (likely combination of food and soap scum - like a white paste) . The accumulator screens where more than 50% clogged with no way to clean the inside. I replaced the accumulator part and the lower spray arm because 2 holes had gunk in them that would not come out. dishes are now getting clean and I am switching to liquid - no more powder as I suspect it caused the build up over time.

bottom of silverware basket broke
received new basket without a basket handle; had to remove handle from old basket & attach it to new basket; took 2 separate tries to remove old handle & each try took about an hour; used screwdriver & pliers but had to be careful not to break handle; eventually used dimes to pry open & hold the attached sections of the handle open in order to free the handle from the old basket; we sure hope the new basket lasts a lot longer than the 2 years that the old basket lasted before it broke.

Soap dish full of west soap, dishes not clean: Isolated to stripped pump shaft, foreign object jammed chopper
Troubleshooting: Noted soap dispenser full of apparently wetted soap, drying cycle dried to brick-like mess. Dishes full of soap particles, not clean. Water through floor and basement ceiling.

Pulled all racks (note arrows on ends of rack supports), used vice grips to remove bottom spray arm (better to use washcloth around little knob to protect from vice grips), unscrewed all torx fasteners to get assembly out. Had to carefully maneuver pump housing out since it attached to water distribution assy. Found stripped sleeve, but didn't understand function until I saw similar post on this site (Thanks!). Ordered seal and chopper kit, paid extra for "2 day" delivery and rx the next week due to holiday weekend (what's up with that? I ordered a linksys security camera on saturday and rx on Sunday from "Lasership"). Followed included instructions - worked fine. Note assembly order of pump with respect to water distribution assembly - I assembled and dissassembled twice due to forgetting interference.

one of the upper wheel glide assemblies broke so I decided to replace all four.
1. Removed the guide end clips/stops by pressing the release tabs. 2. Slide out and remove the upper dishwasher tray. 3. Released all four upper wheel assemblies and replaced with four new ones. I did use a flat blade screwdriver to slip the clip off the tray hold and then removing the wheel assembly was easy. 4. Reinstall the upper dishwasher tray by aligning it with the guides (very easy). 5. Reinstalled the plastic tray guide clips/stops by pressing them back into place. Make sure the tabs lock into place properly. 6. Enjoy hassle free dishwashing again!

Dishwasher would not turn on
Shut off the electricity to the dishwasher. I removed all 11 screws from the door panel. After separating the 2 door panels, I removed the 2 door switches from the door handle ( I used a flat head screw driver to help get them out). Then I unplugged the 2 switches and plugged in the new ones. I replaced the door switches into the door handle ( this was not an exact fit because the new switches is slightly larger than the old ones). I put the new switches in place as tight as I could in the handle. I screwed the 2 screws holding the handle first to secure it before I put all the other screws in the door panel. I turned the electricity to the dishwasher back on. Our dishwasher has been working perfect ever since then and it is over 10 years old.

Plastic tongs were decaying in some areas.
No repair needed, just inserted the new dishrack. My only complaint is the lack of upright tongs in half of the rear section of the rack. This limits the number of dishes that can be stored. My original rack had tongs in all areas which better suited my needs. If there is a replacement that better suits my needs I would like an exchange.

Lower wash arm cap was worn thin allowing the spray arm to hit the dish rack.
The actual problem was the plastic wash arm cap was worn down and not holding the spray arm in place allowing it to hit the lower dish rack and stopping it from turning. The cap is on a threaded steel stem and is easily removed. The spray arm lifts off the stem and its replacement slips right on. Then install the new wash arm cap by screwing it on the stem.

Striker broken
Was really easy to replace just unscrew the dishwasher and remove from under the counter about 3 inches. No need to disconnect the water line or electric. Unscrew one Torx (star) screw and put the new one in. Simple, just have the screw driver before you start.

Replace detergent dispenser
I watched a couple of videos on Youtube, and for once it was actually easier than anticipated. Unplug unit. Remove door screws. Separate inner door from outer door. Remove connector from dispenser (needed flat blade screwdriver to pry it at first.) Remove six screws holder dispenser in. Removed old dispenser, inserted new one, tightened six screws, re-connected wires, attached inner door to outer door, and was done in literally less than 10 minutes. Note: I was using a battery powered screw driver to remove the screws, so that's one reason why it went so fast.
