Actually following the online video is the way to go.

Remove screws that hold the unit to the countertop and pull dishwasher out. Unhook hose from inlet, replace old with new inlet and gasket. Reconnect hose, slide unit back in, install screws. Done. I had ordered just the gasket first and that didn't stop the leak.

Turn off power, remove the lower kick plate and lower trim panel with the nutdriver. The float switch is in the front on the left. Remove the two wires on the switch. Use a #1 philips to remove the one screw holding the switch to the frame. Remove switch. Install wires on new switch and install switch using the screw. Be sure to get the plastic float arm under the switch. Raise float and observe the switch clicking on and off. Replace lower plates and restore power.

remove damaged retainer clip. Install new one. Note: the upper spray arm screws onto the ceiling of the dishwasher with a reverse thread. That is, you need to turn it counter-clockwise to tighten it.

We followed a very clear step-by-step YouTube video to uninstall the dishwasher, remove the pump, replace the gasket, and reinstall the dishwasher. In the video, the dishwasher simply unplugs from an electrical socket, but ours was hardwired, so "unplugging it" involved figuring out the wiring and taking pix on a phone so we could put it back afterward. The machine in the video pulled out easily from under the counter, but ours was hung up by the pegs in front that you adjust for balancing it, and we needed a socket wrench to loosen those and retract them. Otherwise everything was straightforward - just time-consuming. The machine worked fine before replacing the gasket, and it seems to be working fine now!

Unscrewed two screws at top of frame securing dishwasher to the countertop, then pulled the washer forward about 4 inches, which was as far as it could go. The spring had shot all the way to the back of the compartment; I fished it forward with a stiff wire. It was tricky to get the spring re-attached to the lower flange, since I had to do that by feel. Attached a rubber band to the top of the spring and the front slot on the door flange. Hooked the top end of the spring through the linkage and pulled it forward up to the rear slot on the door flange and dropped it into place, at which time it snapped in half. Fortunately I had bought two. I repeated the procedure, except this time I used a pair of needle-nose pliers to grab the top of the spring just below the linkage, then stretch the string and swing the linkage into place without placing any force on it. Then I removed the rubber band, pushed the dishwasher back under the counter, and replaced the counter screws. It would be great if they made these fragile linkages out of metal instead of plastic, or designed the spring to go directly into the slot with a bushing.

Used utube to replace the inner seal. Did not stop the leak completely, had to replace the entire door seal and level the machine.I did the inner seal myself, but had a repairman under our homeowner warranty do the rest.

removed 4 screws on lower plate, 2 screws on dishwasher tabs, slid unit out 6 inches, replaced spring linkage

Used a pair of needle nose pliers to grab the old gasket and then pulled it out of its channel all the way around (noted the orientation of the old gasket). Discarded the old gasket. With a damp paper tower cleaned the channel to make sure there was nothing to interfere with a good seal. Found the middle of the new gasket and starting in the middle of the door opening and using the same orientation (the back part of the gasket has a couple of ribs on each side - the ribbed part of the gasket goes into the channel first) as the old gasket, used my fingers to push the new gasket into the channel around the door opening making sure there are no kinks, crimps, or bulges. Closed and locked the door overnight. This is an EASY fix, and there has been no leak since.

Followed instructions given on the web. Replacement went smoothly, but...description of part said it was for Maytag as well as several other brands. However, this part clips on to the wire basket, where the original part screwed onto the track arm. Therefor, it will not stay on track, and basket vibrates when moving it in and out of dishwasher.

I used a voltmeter to see if 120 volts was present at the right time in the cycle; it was, so the actuator was the likely culprit. I ordered one on a Monday afternoon about 2:30, and it appeared on my doorstep Tuesday, shortly after noon! It took less than 15 minutes to replace the actuator - removing the 7 Phillips-head screws, lifting the panel, popping out the upper actuator, removing the two wires, putting them on the new actuator, popping it in and putting the panel back on. Worked like a charm. Happy wife . . .
