JGS9900BDF Jenn-Air Cooktop - Instructions

Once I got over my first time jitters this was easy. Lucky for me the old screws went back in just fine. The recommended 8/18 x 3/8 screws were way to small to be usable. Check the length of your existing screws if you can before purchasing the recommended ones.

Removed two screw securing wburner and disengage igniter.

Removed two screws and slipped the electrode connection off. Then reserved the process.

Take out 2 T15 torx screws. Lift burner assembly, disconnect igniter. Make sure wire does not return into hole. I put A paperclip on it. Connect new burner assembly. Clean under old burner. Install burner assembly with screws. Test burner.
Voila!

removed motor, saw that stablizers were broke and went to a local parts supply shop called SUNDBERG and was given a price of about 49.00 for three stablizers. at that point i went to the internet and found PARTSELECT.COM were i found the same parts for a fraction of the price,17.00, i could not believe it! SUNDBERG customer service was horrible.PARTSELECT custormer service is great and was just over the internet,any how the repair is done no more loud noise and wife is happy again ,for awhile.thanks keep up the good work.i tell everybody about you guys.

I determined the bake igniter was not working. If the bake ignitor does not work, the sensing unit to turn on the gas does not activate. I examined the bake igniter it was blacked significantly in one spot. There were no apperant cracks in it. I did a web search for the part and ordered it. Three days later it was delivered. Take pictures of each step if you fell the need. Pull stove away from wall turn off the gas, unplug power cord, remove panel in back of stove that covers the electrical, unplug the ignitor/element. Move to the front of the range and remove the oven rack. Remove the cover over burner tubes, it secured with several screws. Remove wing nuts for heat shield. Carefully remove burner tubes along with the attached ignitor/element. You will have to carefully guide the ignitor wires out with the burner tubes. Unscrew ignitor from the burner tube, attach new ignitor/element. Reverse the steps.

We contacted Parts Select for the JennAir factory Trim Kit. When we recieved it we found that the brackets used for the trim kit held the trim pice out with still about a 3/8 inch gap. The supplied brackets were about 3/4-7/8 in depth. So I built a jig from a 1ftx 2inx6in board, placed a 3/8 in square stock of steel, sliped the bracket under the steel and secured the steel to the board with 3/4 inch electr4ical staples. I then secured the bracket to the board using two wood screws. By this time the bracket was securily fastened around the 3/8 steel and to the board. I then took a hammer and beat the bracket until it was formed around the steel and the bracket had a new depth of 3/ inch. I then mesured the holes and center punched them in their original relative positions, drilled new 1/8 inch holes, and installed the new repaired brakets to the JennAir range. This all worked very well, though I will say it is imperitive that youmark the new screw holes very acuratly and use a center punch before drilling.

after I received the cap in the mail, I removed the grillwork and set the cap in place. then replaced the grill and my wife fixed my supper.

I used a star head driver to take of burners ,then pulled wires out about 2 inches unplugged old ignitors and plugged in new ones

Once I saw the spring clips on the new door seal, it was easy to understadn how to remove the old seal and install the new one. Looks nice !

Followed instructions, those were OK.
Dishwasher front still leaking

unscrewed screws in the back of the stove. inside the stove, replaced the old bake igniter with the new one and connected the electrical wire in the back of the stove.

First I removed the burner, two screws held it in place. The ignitor is attached to the burner with one screw remove the screw then remove the one wire connection. Reverse the steps to put back together. The whole job from start to finish takes about five minutes.

Remove the burner cover to reach the burner assembly. From the top of the cooktop you will see 2 screws holing the burner assembly. Using a T drive (6 point screwdriver)remove both screws and the burner assembly will come out of the cook top. Using a phillips head screw driver, remove the old ignitor from the burner assembly. Mine was galled up, so I had to use some penetrating oil and let it sit for a half hour. I then used a hammer and a phillips head screwdriver to tap the screw as I twisted to un-tightened the screw. Once it broke loose, I placed the new ignitor and reassembled the burner into the stove.
