Fan & stove did not operate.
1st removed 2 screws & removed 2 leads ( then the fireworks started/ did not know the power was still in the leads), so removed the power. On the net picked a fan sw. from a picture & ordered it. The service was swift but the part was wrong ( had 3 contacts rather than 2/ I thought by this time they made one sw. for 2 purposes) WRONG.I called in to explain my problem & Susan M. helped me with the right part & excellant service. Thank you Susan.

First I removed the two screws that hold the switch in place. I then pulled the switch out about 3 inches and disconnected the three wires from the old switch and replaced the new switch....

Facelift
We weighed the alternative of purchasing a new cooktop but we really like the Jenn-Air. We converted the Grill position to another two burner station. Parts fit perfectly. Re-used two of the Burner Brackets for the new burners. Installation was easy. Only down side was we continue to have problems obtaining the Grates. Did not ship as a two set kit as advertised. Not sure that was Parts Select's fault though. Only got three of the six replacement grates. Had to cancel and re-order. Although it was an inconvenience, the support staff were helpful. Has taken over a month now and still haven't received the grate kits. All in all though, it was an easy rebuild and Parts Select had all the necessary parts.

One set of burners would not ignite.
This range is about 17 years old and the igniter on the left set of burners had failed in the first month of use. A warranty repairman came, made a big mess, marred the adjacent counter top, spent a lot of time badmouthing Jenn-Air and left without fixing the problem. We have been manually lighting these burners all this time. Now that I am retired, I have set about repairing everything I can get my hands on just to have things to do. I always did this when I was young but got too busy with career and family. One big help is doing things now is you can Google a problem, find parts and instructions how to make the repair which is much easier than all the research you used to have to do. This repair is easy but time consuming due to all the screws that you have to remove to get to the igniter and the controller in the back. Since one side worked I was confident that the controller was good but the problem was only the igniter on the left side. This range is a dual fuel unit and has a downdraft connection so sliding it out from the wall is also time consuming. First pull the breaker at the electric panel. Remove the bottom plate and disconnect the flexible downdraft connection. Hopefully, you have enough flexible gas line so you can slide stove out to reach the back without having to shut off the gas and removing the connection. Next you remove the grills and burners. Then you have to remove all the screws connecting the top of the stove. There are nuts and washers that surround the gas jets that you can remove to partially lift the drip pan so you can unscrew the old igniter and install the new one. Next remove the back and see where the igniter control is located. Disconnect the old wire, install the new wire in the guides and insert in the controller. At this point all you need to do is put everything back where it was. This does not take a lot of know-how just time and patience. It makes you wonder why an "expert" could not have done this easily.

The high/low fan switch was inoperable.
The available replacement switch is a bit too large to fit into the hole on the original face plate which must be kept as it also mounts the 4 burner dials and the “on” light.
A local machine shop was able to make the original hole large enough to accommodate the new switch. Total time to detach and reassemble the original face plate, less than 2 hours. Other than the new switch being black, it looks original. (The 2 smaller face plates provided with the new switch were not needed.)

Burners would not light - rusted
New front burners fit well, but back ones had just enough variance in tne angle of the gas-supply tube that it would not fit the mounting bracket holding both burners in place. I had to grind a small flange off of the bracket so the gas tube would clear. Once that was done the burners worked well.
