Hot water only coming thru to washer as a drizzle
First turned off water and unplugged washer. Removed hoses and then removed bracket. The new part needed the bracket from the old mixer which was no problem - 3 screws. Removed electrical plugs from old mixer-placed on new one.No problems - worked like new. Thanks for your prompt shipment and the good illustrations of the parts when I was searching.. Also, half the price of local parts houses and it would still have to be ordered.

Wouldn't flow cold water
Pushed machine out from wall; disconnected the supply hoses (after closing the valves at the wall); unplugged electrical cord; removed two wires from the solenoid connectors; removed two screws that secure valve assembly to backplane of machine. Installation of new assembly was the opposite procedure. We have private well, and silt was plugging the cold water side of valve. So, I also installed a large sediment filter behind the washer, so this will never happen again.

Dishwasher power shutdown mid cycle
Removed door panel to get to the electric control conponents and noticed a burned wire to one of the door microswitches. Ordered the door switch repair kit from PartSelect. Also, ordered and replaced the thermal fuse at the same time since it was only $12 and didn't know if that blew at the same time the switch cooked. I had the parts coming standard delivery (3-5 days), but they arrived the very next day. Parts included easy to follow directions.Job went pretty smooth and the dishwasher works again Good experience!

bought unit used! Former owner cross threaded the inlet valve -wonder it didn;t leak before now.
pulled out wash/dry stacked combo unit from cubbyhole (this was the hardest part) . Shutoff both hose supplies, turn off power to unit.disconnect power cord @ coupling. Disconnect both hoses @ machine and drain into pan. Remove old valve assembly, take note of what wires go where and disconnect. Remove filler hose from valve. Install new unit in reverse order but using new hose washers and be carefull not to cross thread the plastic threads and only tighten as much as needed to keep from leaking. Have bought from these people before and they are SUPER. Had the correct part in LESS than 24 hrs. and for a reasonable price !! Sam

Erratic Fills
Studied, diagnosed the issue, looked at symptoms described in ParrtSelect's on line resources, purchased the part. Had it in one day without the need for extra FedEx shipping charges; waspleasantly surprised to see how easy this repair was to make. I then replaced inlet hoses with new stainless steel types. This workhorse pair of of Maytag appliances, constructed in January 1985 will continue to serve for many more years. These are well-built battleships! And PartSelect will be my part source of choice to keep them going!

no cold water for wash cycle as if there was a flow restriction
Ordered replacement water inlet valve, switched out within 10 mins and problem solved for less than $50. Maytag design easily allowed for the inlet valve unit to be replaced without accessing interior workings of the washer. The unit is mounted with 3 screws on a removable rear panel where the hot and cold H2O hoses are connected. Very easy! Tested immediately upon completion and was delighted to see that hot, warm and cold water filled the tub extremely fast, the way it worked when purchased new 18 years ago. The web site repair video was key to my success.

mixing valve cold water solenoid not working. Cold water wasn't filling.
Shut off hot and cold water supply and removed hoses from mixing valve. I unplugged the machine and removed the screw holding the plate that the valve is connected to. I removed the plate and valve and used my smart phone camera to photograph the wiring connections. The next step included removing the wires, the hose and clamp. Remove the valve from the plate. Reverse the procedure for installation. Make sure that the valve and plate are adjusted as far from the drum to prevent contact when the machine is going through spin cycles. The procedure took about 10 minutes and fixed the problem. You have to love Maytag for their reliability and ease of maintenance.

Cold water would not shut off
Pulled the washer away from wall and tipped forward, leaning against a chair. Removed the hot and cold water hoses. Removed 1 screw. Pulled the plate off the back of the washer. Removed two screws holding the old valve onto that plate. Took 4 wires off the original valve one at a time and placed the wires one at a time on the new valve, so I didnt have to write down or remember which wire went where. Slid one hose clamp up, pushed the hose off the old valve and placed it on the new valve. Threw the two screws back on the valve and fastened it to the plate. Put the plate back on the back side of the washer with one screw. Put some teflon tape on the threads of the new water valve and screwed on the hot and cold water hoses.
