How to Fix a Door Strike for a Washer That Has Spinning Issues

The door strike is an important part to your washer's ability to recognize when it is ready to commence the washing cycle. If your washer's door strike in any way malfunctions or is broken, it can cause your washer to not start, spin or to stop mid-cycle if it detects that the door is open, when it really isn't. To help with your repair, we're going to go step-by-step through through the process to get your washer back to 100% as soon as possible.

What is a Door Strike?

The door strike, also known as a door catch, is used to ensure that the door of a front-load washer locks properly. The door strike has two pins that activate the door switch when the door is closed. If your washer isn’t spinning, the door lock may not be engaged properly due to a damaged door strike.

Where is the Door Strike Located?

The door strike is located on the inside of the door of your front-load washer.
