Gearcase leaking oil into the clutch/worn clutch pads
Since there are good videos of how to replace the clutch, I'm only going to focus on how to replace the gearcase cover seal. The reason this is tricky is that the seal itself is half metal/half rubber and when you try to remove the original seal only the rubber part comes out easily. The metal part remains behind and actually looks like i t's part of the gearcase cover. If after you've removed the seal and you see a series of metal grooves embedded with rubber, you haven't removed the entire seal. Place the new seal up against the original seal to see how big it is and try to remove the entire seal in one shot. Squeeze the new seal to see where the metal portion is and use a large socket to hammer against that metal portion to remove the original seal. Reverse the process to install the new seal. Nothing difficult once you know what to remove.
