A burn smell was coming out from the bottom of the washer. I followed the instructions in the video. It was so easy. I have to add that I am a 45 year old woman. If I can do it anybody can! Thank you so much you saved me about 300 hundred dollars. My husband wanted to buy a new one.

Washer motor was smoking. Replace the washer motor.
Simply follow the detailed instructions on the video (see video on page with part). The repairman in the video tucks the green ground wire under the motor plate/pad. However, the plastic shield that covers the motor has a little post up top that holds the ground wire up above the motor. Not a big deal but it may protect the wire from chafing.

Unplug washer and shut water valves. Pry open the top cover then unscrew and remove the front cover. Tilt the washer back and prop it securely on blocks. Remove the drive belt, plastic motor cover and wiring plug. Remove two screws holding motor mounting plate to base of washer. On the bench, remove mounting plate from motor. Install new motor on mounting plate - be sure to install all three motor bushings correctly. Install mounting plate onto washer base ensuring rubber bushings are installed correctly.
