Top load washer spins but does not get all water out of clothes. Occasional burning smell. Have to put on spin only cycle to try and get all the water out and that does not always work anymore. Towels get heavy and then sometimes it won't do the additional spin.
For model number 11082370120
Hello Nanci, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking the Belt. Make sure it is not worn and rubbing causing the smell. Also if the belt is worn it will not be able to properly spin the basket and allow it to spin/drain the water from the clothes. We hope this helps!

replaced belt on whirlpool washer: wouldn't spin or drain or agitate
the instructions that came w/the pump belt were ok, but missed a key point: removing the clutchspring. Because of this, I spent an extra 10-15 minutes trying to slip the belt on while the case leaked oil & fluid all over the inside of the chassis. This was pretty disconcerting although I'd say it lost less than a 1/4 cup of fluid during t

Additionally, it's not really clear from the drawing what "the "spin cam bar" is supposed to look like in the "spin position", so I just rotated the drive pulley until it was at a perpendicular angle to the "spin pulley" as that is how it looks in the drawing supplied. After the initial repair, I needed to go back and tighten the belt by prying and hammering the engine bracket further away from the rest of the works, but now it seems to be working fine. It's not a difficult repair, necessarily, just royal pain. Can't complain about the cost of parts, however.
Washer not pumping out - motor running but not turining belt
The knob was easy; just remove broken knob and install new knob. Timer works as new. The belt (95405) is a bit harder and requires several tools (1/2" & 9/16" sockets plus the usual screwdriver/ nutdriver and adj wrench). I followed the instructions packed with the new belt. Main item is to turn transmission pulley while holding up the t

A bit tricky, but you'll see just enough space to slide the old belt out and the new belt in. While you're at it, always check the lint buildup in the dryer vent hose. Old dryers often have plastic or vinyl hoses, these are no longer approved by building codes. (fire hazard) Replace with a $15 kit that includes new type metal expandable 4" hose and clamps.
