Oven Would Not Heat Up To Temperature
Once I noticed that the oven was not heating up I looked inside and could see that the lower bake element had burned through. I turned off the oven, removed the shelves and shut off the circuit breaker that fed the oven. Using a 1/4 inch socket remove the sheet metal screw on each side of the heating element. This is where the flashl ight comes in handy because the oven light will not work because the circuit breaker is off. Gently pull the heating element away from the back wall of the oven, exposing about 2 inches of wire and remove the female spade connector from each side of the element. This is where the needle nosed pliers comes in handy. When you receive the new element, connect the female spade connector to each side of the element and slide the element back into place and reinstall the sheet metal screws to secure the element in place. Turn the breaker back on and you're back in business. Note: while the element is out, it's a great time to clean the oven.
