By pressing on the primer bulb it will force fuel into the line from the tank into the carburetor. Once the carburetor is full of fuel, the excess fuel will be sent back into the tank. Over time the primer bulb may lose its elasticity or crack eventually requiring replacement. It is made from durable rubber with a plastic adapter and it is sold individually.

The swivel rotates as the throttle position changes to prevent any binds in the throttle cable. As the swivel rotates the valve on the carburetor rotates with it, this allows more air into the motor, which simultaneously pulls more fuel, and helps the motor to accelerate. The swivel kit is commonly used in small engines found in outdoor lawn and garden equipment. The kit includes a swivel, a clip, and a washer. The swivel and clip are made of metal, and the washer is plastic. To install the swivel kit in your carburetor you will need a flathead screwdriver and pliers.

The metering side of your carburetor is a self adjusting vacuum based system, the diaphragm moves depending on the amount of fuel being pulled into the motor. At higher speeds more fuel is being pulled into the engine, the diaphragm compresses and the pin in the center of the diaphragm pushes on the metering lever, which lifts the regulator inlet needle and allows more fuel to travel from the pump into the reservoir.
