Product Description

Designed for use with Ryobi saws, this OEM approved replacement part is compatible with various models of Ryobi saws. For full compatibility, please see the "Model Cross Reference List" below. The purpose of the switch is to turn the device on/off, as well as playing a role in electric breaking by momentarily reversing electrical polarity. Due to the mechanical internals of switches, they tend to degrade and wear out over time, making them a commonly replaced part in power tools. Common symptoms of a broken switch include: the tool completely stops functioning, will not turn on, and turning off intermittently during use. The dimensions of this switch are approximately 3.5"x2.25". Switches are sold individually.

Old switch, regardless of position, was always on.
1 removed 4 screws that held in old switch.
2 removed 4 electrical leads from old switch.
3. Orientation of lugs on new switch are different, so some bending is required to get switch back into housing.
4 test switch
5 screw on new switch.

The on off switch was broken
Unscrewed the 4 retaining bolts disconnected the 4 electrical wires
Connect wires to new switch replaced retaining bolts

Switch would not turn off the saw
Removed the four screws securing the old switch.

Checked the four connector blades with a continuity tester to confirm the right connection before swapping as the positions are slightly different on the back of the new switch.

Pre-drilled 4 new holes in the sheet metal as it’s physically smaller than the original and secured with the original screws.

Works like a treat!
