It is the heavy dish that sits in the heating base and can be easily removed by simply pulling it straight up (once it has cooled off or with cooking mitts). It can be safely washed in the dishwasher, or gently by hand. It is also ovenproof and microwave friendly. It should not be used on gas or electric burners or under the broiler. This stoneware dish is most commonly replaced due to cracks, chips, or just stubborn food stains.
