This is an OEM clear plastic splash guard that fits on top of the mixing bowl. It helps to stop ingredients from splashing out while mixing and makes it easy to add ingredients with its wide cut out. Due to its plastic construction, this part can crack or damage over time and may need to be replaced. To attach the splash guard, turn the control knob off, attach the bowl and desired attachment, and lock the mixer head into the downward position. Slide the splash guard over the bowl so it is centered, and the chute is positioned correctly. The inner perimeter of the splash guard should fit against the edge of the mixing bowl. The splash guard is designed so that it fits freely on the bowl to make assembly easier. When using the splash guard, make sure the mixer head fits into the opening, and the pouring chute is to the right of the attachment hub when you are facing the mixer. While you pour the ingredients into the bowl, be sure to hold the lid in place with your hands.

To attach the bowl to the stand mixer, start by making sure it is in the off position and unplugged. Press the tilt release button and tilt the mixer head back. The bowl then gets placed on the bowl locking plate. Turn the bowl carefully clockwise until the handles are perpendicular to the base. It is now ready for use. This bowl is dishwasher-friendly, making it easy to clean. Never use harsh cleaning materials as they could damage the finish. This OEM bowl is sold independently.

Press the tilt release button and tilt mixer head back. Line up the key positions of the beater shaft and attachment and push upward. Turn counterclockwise so the pin lines up with the attachment notch and snaps into position.
