Freeze food in fresh department. Why?
For model number 10651133210
Hi Betty,
Thank you for your question. If the fresh food section of your refrigerator is too cold, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the air baffle, the thermistor, the main control board and the dispenser control board. We have included a link from our website that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please call customer service. We look forward to hearing from you!
This is for in-door ice and water dispenser. I tried replacing the ice maker first, no go. Local tech said it was ice maker circuit board. I bought both emitter and receiver boards at Partselect since they have $60 core refund on each. Still didn't work. Local tech checked again and said it must be broken wire in freezer door which can't be fixed. I asked tech I got ice maker from on o-bay, he said wire could be broken at stress point under freezer door. I did continuity tests on wires from plugs at ice maker to plugs under the freezer door and found it. I stripped wire cover off and found the broken wire. There wasn't enough slack for wire nut so I used an in-line connector that you stick the stripped ends of the wire into and crimp it. Works fine now thanks to internet tech. The hardest part (other than replacing the working parts I didn't need to) was taking the freezer door off the hinges and replacing it. I removed the top hinge, lifted the door off the bottom pivot, and just laid it down. It wasn't necessary to disconnect the water lines. After fixing the wire I re-taped and re-sleeved the wire bundles and put the door back on. The job wasn't particularly technical, a continuity tester is cheap and handy to have. Taking the door off and fixing the wire took 15 minutes, getting it all back together and replacing the door was 1/2 hr. Ordering, waiting for delivery, installing and uninstalling the unnecessary parts took 3 weeks. HINT: To keep the freezer cold, I cut a piece of foam-board to cover the freezer compartment and taped around the edges.
