Stripper kept breaking and the water level kept going over full and freezing.
I replaced the complete ice maker unit and that went fine. I did not shut off the water supply line while doing the exchange. No water came out to refill the ice maker during the procedure however... everything seems to be in place, the unit is plugged in the same way the previous unit was attached and yet, twenty four hours later there is still no water coming into the the ice tray.
