This OEM compression ring is used to hold the evaporator fan motor in place. Signs that you may need to replace the compression ring are if the fan is noisy, or your fridge or freezer are too warm. We recommend replacing both the compression ring and the evaporator fan grommet at the same time. The evaporator fan motor is found at the back of the freezer compartment, and you will need a Phillips screwdriver to remove the cover concealing the fan. A small flat blade screwdriver may be needed to remove the compression ring from the fan. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your fridge before beginning this repair.
