heating element had burnt out in lower oven and the broiler unit in upper oven
i had read some of the other repair hints on this website . it REALLY was that easy!! just undid a couple screws in bottom oven, pulled , gently, on the connections, removed old heating element, popped in new one! that quick, that easy! the upper element took a bit more time, a little harder to get at because the oven is clearly smaller.

the connection did fall back thru the hole, but i had read another help item where the gentleman said he had removed the back of his range, so i did that , popped it back through hole, connected and back in business!! it was so easy!! had an apple pie in the oven in about an hour! thank you everyone who posted for giving me the courage to do this myself!! please don't be afraid everyone!! this is very do-able!!!

replace top oven element
I removed the element guide and back element screws using the screw driver tool. (much easier than a hand screw driver) I placed the guide back over the element and left lose until ready to tighten later. I then had trouble being able to push in element ends onto the wiring. The wire ends didn't both come out from the back and were not s

table. They moved around making it impossible to push the new ends into place. I pulled the oven away from wall (easy because it rolls). Then I was able to unscrew the back panel from the top section leaving the bottom of the lower screws still intact, pulling open the back plate enough for access. The element prongs after being attached with the screws from the inside, stuck through the back and were then easy to attach to the wire prongs. I closed up the back. Then reattached the element guide using driver. Works like new. The only hard part was figuring how to get to the wire attachments, which were easy from the back of the appliance.
