How to test the Range Gas Valve Assembly. If this assembly fails, will the control panel show the error F6E0 - Lost Communication?
For model number KGSS907SSS03

Hi Bill, thank you for getting in touch. No, a failed gas valve assembly will not cause this error code. The error code indicates that there may be a problem with the oven control, appliance manager, or the associated wiring. Ensure that the wire harnesses to the control board are working properly. If they are fine, the issue could be with the oven control board, part number WP9762794. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. To test the gas valve, use a multimeter to check the internal solenoids for electrical continuity and correct resistance values. First, the wires to the gas valve solenoids need to be disconnected to check the ohms; the bake/broil coils are identical and should have a value of around 199-216 ohms each. If any circuit shows infinite resistance or is drastically out of the expected range, the internal solenoid coil is bad. We hope this information helps!

My Gas valve was bad and needed replacing
It was a fairly simple job to do. I unplugged the stove, shut off the gas, pulled out the stove. Then it was simply a matter of disconnecting the wire to the igniter, removine the lower burner, and disconnecting the two wires to the gas valve.I had to remove the 4 mounting screws holding the valve on before I could use my adjustable wrenc

h to undo the large gas line. Then I had to remove the adapter from the old valve as the new one didn't have it. Once that was done, I replaced everything in the reverse order. The total job time was a little less than an hour. I'm glad this part was availble for purchase. Saved me about 130.00.
