Turn off power @ the Breaker Box, cut the wires, (make sure the routing was not changed, it really don't matter) installed as the note/direction state. 10-15min.
Were these instructions helpful?
Note: This is the first time I've ever tried fixing a stove. First, I ordered a new element. Took a minute to install, but it didn't solve the problem. I ordered a terminal block kit and switch kit. Replaced the terminal block. Took about 10 minutes. Only problem was the shrink sleeves melted. Electrician's tape remedied the problem. Tested the element again. It still didn't work. Following instructions provided, replaced the old switch with the new universal switch. First unplugged stove. Removed upper back panel. Took a closeup photo of switch connections, in case I messed up. Removed old switch, leaving all wires connected. Per instructions, mounted new switch and fitted dial to proper length - took about two minutes. Permanently mounted new switch. New switch wire terminals were not in the same location as on the old switch. No matter, both old and new switch terminal designations are clearly marked. Transferred wires from old terminals, one at a time, and connected to corresponding terminal on new switch. Plugged in stove. Turned on the new switch. Element worked fine. Tested the rest of the stove, just to make sure I didn't mess anything up. Everything worked. Replaced back panel. Cleaned up areas on the stove that are hard to reach while stove is in place. Slid stove back in place. Works like a champ.
I followed the video, which is a great idea, thank you!
i did not on the terminal block but that is not what it is called.it was the plug for the burner
Just follow the directions provided with the terminal block & it's really, really easy. Only problem that I had was telling the front from the back & the top from the bottom but I think that the wires only snap in one way so there is no way to screw it up!
Followed the repair instructions at each of the parts web pages. Also found that the instructions at this location were helpful to understand why the new switch did not look like the original switch.
removed burners, cut wires to each burner, installed new wires from terminal block kit. reinstalled surface element. Followed directions from video located at site of the ordered items
followed instructions on video and enclosed with part, extremely easy, only difficulty I never used heat shrink before, used a lighter on heat shrink but heat gun would be easier if you have one
Watched the video on how to change the terminal Block and it was a breeze! Step by Step followed the video and walked right through the repair. Range is working very well. The repair was easy as could be, the hardest part was the traffic to get to the range!
